@AliJosh: Hi there - Welcome to WB
I am so sorry they cancelled. You have good time to find someone else and everything in the wedding world does indeed happen for a reason! I am not sure what your price range is. We're using Sarah Rhoads Photography and truth be told they're in the pricier range. However, I do have some recommendations....
Good Luck
YES!! I did my bridal portraits with my horse with Josh and Ali from Jaylee Productions. They are engaged and she does bodouir photography as well. I HIGHLY recommend them!!
@jackie-o: I second Jagger! I love everything they do, and I'm sort of biased because they're going to be shooting our wedding!
Is there a reason you're stuck on the "couples" thing? You may have more luck finding what you want in terms of quality and price, if you also consider photographers who work with a second shooter who is not a spouse.
@NotYourTypicalBride: ditto! It seems like the OP is limiting herself in a way that isn't necessary.
We used Cass and Jess Redstone from Redstone Pictures and highly recommed her.!
We are using Amore Studios which is a couple. We just had the engagement pictures taken yesterday.
Kim and Adam from La Vie Photography!!!! Best photos I have ever seen- they did my brother's wedding.
Ouch. As a non couple photog, about to marry the least artistic man ever, I can't help but feel stung that you wouldn't consider me if I was in your area. Is there a valid reason? I get wanting a second shooter but to limit it to couples only is almost akin to white only or black only. It's kinda rediculous and you'll be missing out on some awesome people :-(
have you tried emailing the ones that are a little expensive? it never hurts to ask if they are willing to work with your budget - my photographer is super expensive but i gave him my budget and he said ok - so he ended up giving us a 2k discount - never hurts to ask :)
Yes! Ours is: angelaandevan.com. Also, we considered Laura Trotten from blissed.com, who has her hubby be the second shooter.
Also, I heard about John and Joseph, who are a brother team, if that can work too.
I got married in July and used Ben Becker and his wife. You can find him at beckerweddings.com!
Joey Nicole Photography! Husband and wife team- she does most of the "main" shooting but her husband is second shooter and they are amazing.
i know that jon and moch photography is absolutely awesome--and their rates are reasonable. they are located in the tacoma area. they are good friends of my family.
Wow, I totally forgot we posted this bulletin in the heyday of panicked searching. The good news is we found our photographers after about a month of searching. Love their style and their personalities and they were exactly what we were looking for when it comes to price range, too. Nichole Jordan photography (www.nicholejordan.com), and if you find your way down a few posts you'll see our engagement session that was wicked awesome (we're ali and josh).
My apologies to anyone we offended with our "couples-specfic" post. Though I'm inclined to say "personal preference is up to us, so getting worked up really isn't worth it", the reason we want a couple is that in our searching and dealing with solo photographers we found that, when it comes to second shooters, we were constantly being told "and we'll bring an assistant/second shooter that I'll find about a month before your wedding", meaning that we wouldn't get to meet them before hand, nor do we have any guarentee they're up to the standards of the primary photog we're looking for. So that said, we wanted someone with two shooters, and we don't want the second one to be some random last-minute commitment.
And I don't think the criteria is so offensive and crazy. I know that there are a lot of folks who just want someone to snap pictures at an affordable rate and aren't concerned about inspiration or background or passion or those things, but we've found that, on both sides of the camera, photographers with a dynamic that works together (see: in a relationship vs. associates/friends/etc) tend to shoot with a style and eye that is very complimentarty of each other, and tends to turn out photos that WE find stronger collaboratively than the other option.
So there you have it. Sorry if we offended people (though I think the offended posters will see a decent list of 'couple' photogs that other bees have posted for us), and KLP2010, equating our personal preference to racism is about the most uneducated thing I've heard someone say. Sorry that takes you off the market, but I'm guessing that, with that attitude and mentality, we wouldn't have clicked with you anyway, couple or not.
Just saw this thread, but our photographers at Gash Photography are a married couple and we'd highly recommend them.
Searching for a married couple was not originally a criterion for us, but in hindsight, I'd have to agree that there is value in hiring a team with dedicated experience working together.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
So, long story short, our photogs (who we have known for years and dearly love) went and cancelled on us about 9 months before the wedding. Luckily, no money was exchanged yet so there were no legalish issues, but we had grown pretty emotionally attached to three things:
Them (A quirky, married couple)
Their photos (Definitely very artistic and photojournalistic)
Their homie-hook-up rates
So now we're back on the hunt, and while we've found a few photogs whose styles match, they tend to be quite a bit more than we can afford. We've also found ones we can afford but their photos are 'on' about 80% of the time (and that's a risk we're not comfortable taking). And we've found one or two that we love, that are already booked.
Sooooo. While we know how to search for the STYLE of photogs we like, we're having some trouble finding ones that are actually COUPLES. Any of you Bees happen to know of some?
Cheers
A+J
