I’ve found some photographers that I like and have requested quotes from them but I have no idea how to measure the value of their packages. What should I beasking them to see if they are going to be right for me? What should I be looking for? How much is too much?
I’m pretty lost in the photography sector. Any help or advice would be a great help.

@Caprica: There are actually quite a few threads in here that detail what to look for in hiring a photographer. Search and read! Here are a few generalizations though:
1. Love their work. If you’re not excited about their photography you’ve made the wrong choice.
2. Love them. Your photographer is going to be with you the entire day. They should be someone you could be friends with.
3. Stuff doesn’t matter. Spend whatever you have budgeted on the best photographer you can get. Albums and other perks are useless if you don’t love the photos, and can always be purchased later.
4. If you can, hire a full time professional who has some experience. In major metropolitan areas wedding photographers start in the 2500-3000 range and go up from there. You want someone who is insured, has backup equipment, and can show you full weddings.

Yes on the above – you have to love their work. Packages and numbers of prints, images on discs, whatever doesn’t matter much if you don’t like the shots or if they missed taking shots you wanted.
And yes, you need to like the photographers as well, they will be interacting with you all day. A photographer with a grating personality is going to annoy people and that will show in the shots.
Best of luck!!
