Do you have a particular style of photography that you like (such as more traditional or more photojournalistic)?  Jennie Andrews does some great work (www.jennieandrews.com) and her prices are reasonable compared to some others around town. You may also want to get some recommendations from your ceremony/reception site. I'm going to use Jesse from Rosewood Photography (rosewood-weddings.com) because she's very familiar with the Bleak House where we are having our reception.

We just hired Shannon Kelley to do our wedding and engagement photography.  Her pictures are great, she has a wonderful personality and her prices were so reasonable! I kept waiting for a 'catch' but never found one! We haven't taken any pictures yet, but I have seen her work and I love it!

I am using Todd Williams of Picture Perfect of Easley . He is in SC but his fee to travel to Gatlinburg is only $188 and his base cost is $750 so he can complete with the locals with pricing after travel still less than $1000 and he is an excellent photographer. I had a good friend use him and his photos are stunning.  Nancy Hellsten is very talented and fabulous prices but isn't taking clients until next spring as she is expected and her prices start at $1650. Wes Hope of Hope Photo is good but $$. He starts around $2K but for what I am getting with Todd he quoted $4000.

I am using Erick Thompson of Photography by Erick. We are unable to use flash in the church sanctuary and he is the only photographer I talked to who had a lens that was made to allow more natural light in. He sent me a link to see a wedding he shot with the same restrictions. It was beautiful. He is also very affordable.
