Just wanted to know for those who have booked or had their weddings- what is a reasonable price to expect to pay for both your photography for the day and your videography?
Is it usually a better deal if you use someone that can do both services and combine the pricing into a package deal?
I was hoping for all-day photography (just 1 photographer) and probably quite a few hours of videography so that he can capture some getting ready, ceremony, reception clips of everything.
Any recommendations would be helpful and just an idea of what an average price would be?

The prices really range. I don’t have a videographer yet, for photography, you can find a beginner for under $2K and the top photographers charge about $6K and up depending on what you want from them.
I went mid-range (Sharp Fluff Photography) because I can’t afford the top range. My friend put it in perspective when she said the one thing that you keep years after the cake is eaten and flowers are given away, is your photos and video.
For video I think highlight reel is enough for me. Nobody besides yourself would want to watch a whole day, I mean, that’s 12 hours to rewatch. But I have to do more research. Suggestions welcomed.

It differs pretty drastically by area, skill/talent level, and what’s included in your package.
We sprung for a pricier photographer (for our area) but our package comes with a lot – 9 hours of coverage, two photographers, engagement session, hi-res images w/ rights, and a custom wedding album for $4200.
I saw some decent photographers with packages in the $2K range, too.
Your best bet is to just go on theKnot’s local vendor section, pick your location, click on “photography/videography”, and start doing a little research. Lots of photographers (not all) will have their packages and pricing outlined on their site, or just a “packages starting at $____.” And if you see one you like with no prices listed, just e-mail them and ask.

Anyone ever use David Morris Photography? I met one of their photographers that was really nice at the National Bridal Show and she was really awesome, but I have no idea what they’re like to work with.

Ya, I’m shopping around and rates for video and photo have been all over. I did just get a quote for 12 hours with both for $3000 as it’s on sale until April from $3500. I love there photos and they also offer those new booths which are slow motion.
There site is http://www.kesscreativetudios.com I’m meeting with them this week. Nice photos and video and reasonable rates they have won awards too.
Hope that may help you 🙂
