We got both, and we still haven't watched our wedding video all the way through. That's just us though. A videographer was really important to my FIL so he paid for it. Both of our parents LOVE LOVE LOVE the video, and in time I think we will too. It's more of something to look back on once the memories have started to fade. I'm also a photographer, so of course, I'm a bit partial to pictures :)
If you think you'll regret not having one, do it!
We spent a good chunk of money getting both and we could not be happier with our decision. In fact, tomorrow we finally carved out the time to go see our wedding video, YAY!
We only did photos. I think it might be neat to have a video, but there was just no way I could justify the expense. I'm thrilled with our photos and I really don't regret the choice. And that's without having priced out a videographer, so even if I could have found one for really cheap, it would have still seemed like a waste.

I was perfectly okay with just getting a photographer, but then I saw all the gorgeous videos on here. These videos can give me goosebumps and can capture things that photos can miss. But my question is: Is the money worth it? What are your honest opinions on pictures versus video? Did you do both? Or only one? I'm just worried that getting a videographer is going to be just like paying for another photographer.
