You should just start a folder with inspiration photos of wedding-related pictures you really like and would like to incorporate the idea into your day.  Start by going to various florist sites and looking through their galleries; save anything that catches your eye.  Do the same for wedding planners & photographers (they will have some photos of weddings they’ve planned/photographed so there will be photos of all kinds of different details on their sites), the Knot, cakes, dresses, etc.  You’ll probably find that you are drawn to particular style or theme and can probably piece together an inspiration board that has a common thread and gives you something to plan around.  If you’re not finding yourself drawn to many photos while just browsing, then you’ll have to do some deeper research.  If you look hard enough I’m sure you’ll find some images that really resonate with you.

Oh, I should have also mentioned…

If you’re just going to keep the inspiration board for yourself to guide your planning, that’s one thing, just do as above.  But if you’re going to post it on your blog or distribute it in anyway, you should make a point to save the sources from which you get the photos so you can post the sources and not infringe on any copyrights when you post it later.

What smartl said is perfect. I’d add to not feel confined to just wedding related stuff. Home decorating sites can be wondeful color scheme inspiration. Anything that sums up the feel of your wedding. For instance famous images of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly will invoke a classical elegance or the smurfs will invoke a playful feel if the colors were blue and white. The thing I love most about inspiration boards is the sky is really the limit! http://www.gettyimages.com or http://www.istockphoto.com are great places for find stunning stock photography of all kinds. A light, refreshing feel for a orange colored wedding can be portrayed by showing pictures of oranges, grapefruits and other citris fruits. In the early stages the overall “feel” is really more important than the “details” and will actually help guide the details. Then you can up date it as things progress to include more and more details. Good luck!!!!
