@Billsgirl:  I picked up the phrase “Holy buckets” from a South Dakotan ex. I love it!

This is sort of off-topic, but my FI has never heard of, like, any expressions. I am always saying what are, I guess, weird expressions, and he has no clue what I’m talking about!

I’m from Florida, which is sort of the South, so I guess we have more than your average share of expressions.

@Billsgirl:  My parents’ generation and older refer to things that are sub par as “from hunger”. As in “that paint job is from hunger”.

@Billsgirl:  My FI doesn’t know what i’m saying half the time… to the point where he is literally googling things I say. I have awful road rage and called someone a “douche monger” – he googled it.

My dad always says “it’s colder than a witches tit outside” but I don’t understand #1 how he knows a witches tit is cold? I mean is my mom a witch? does he know real witches? #2 Why is my dad saying tit so much?

@MrsConnolly2bee:  Lol douche-monger, I love it!  I say “douche-lagoon” all the time.

My DH always says “It’s good enough for the girls I go with” and I throw that around sometimes too but it doesn’t really work as well when I say it.

Does saying “bless her heart” when you’re talking negatively about someone count? lol
