I recently created a post on hormonal acne. It seems this is a very common thing.
The more I am thinking about it, the more I am realizing my stress levels of planning this wedding are not helping AT all. I am exactly 1 month away (to the day!) and my body is seriously shutting down.
I have huge mouth ulcers that won’t go away (you know..the kind in your mouth and throat). I must have 3 or 4 for the past 2 weeks. I am prone to them anyway, but they will not budge. My Dr. said stress can cause them to flare up.
My hair is also falling out in huge chunks. I know the seasons are changing so some shedding is normal, but I feel like I am going bald. My FI is completely grossed out and I am starting to be also. Every time I pull I get a giant hand full.
My hormones are through the roof. I tell my FI “I need a moment” all the time and just walk away lol. Simetimes it’s because I am about to cry, some times I am about to flip the F out.
So, what are YALLS amplified bodily stress reactions?

I had eczema as a teen and then grew out of it, but now it comes back if I am really stressed. My first year of teaching was awful and I had eczema really bad. I also got it before my wedding but luckily I knew how to handle it at that point. The new thing that I have is hives when I get REALLY stressed. It’s crazy how much stress freaks out our bodies. Yoga helps a lot, so does spending time alone. I love my DH but when I am really stressed, I need to tune everybody out for a bit. Make sure to take time for yourself during this crazy time!!

texaslemon: I lose weight… and not in a good way. I will lose weight to the point where I look frail and like a 12 year old. I also get exhausted and achy.
Hope you feel better. You could try biotin for your hair… it helps.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Our Backyard/Steakhouse
texaslemon: dry skin condition on my extremeties, I’ve had pneumonia twice in the last month, acid reflux, weight gain, tension migraines, the muscles and joints in my t-spine lock up, IBS, and then the typical irritability, lack of sleep, inability to focus sort of stuff.
Dear lord, I sound like a basket case.
Thankfully, now that the wedding is over I’m starting to unwind a bit and get back into my routine. I haven’t been to the gym in over two months and it’s DEFINITELY showing.

Ugh IBS and severe nausea! Make sure you take time for yourself and take deep breaths! It honestly helps!

I have always, since I was a teenager, gotten an eye twitch when I’m stressed.
In the past couple years, a new thing popped up… my joints randomly swell and really hurt. My fingers, toes, feet, hands, knees, etc. It will be just one or two at a time, and they will swell for 24 hours and then a new joint will swell. had all sorts of blood tests done to see if we could figure out what it is, and the only common demonimator is stress. it sucks.

My scalp is taking the brunt of my stress recently. My scalp is dry and peeling. It’s gross. I’ve been looking up some home remedies that seem to help but I have a feeling it will be much better once we are past the wedding.

I get anything from chest pains, heart palipitations, IBS to face and chest blushing/rash. Stress is terrible!

DariaVixen: I am taking Folic acid which is supposed to help a bunch of stuff, but no dice.
LDay1983: I forgot IBS, weight gain, joint pain, and dry itchy scalp.
I have always had joint pain, but it has gotten to the point where I have to go to the physical therapist 2x week for my back/hips/shoulders. I cry sometimes I am in so much pain! and I my IBS is terrible..my doc put me on a stomach spazm med. Hopefully it helps! BAH!

- Wedding: June 2014 - Gold Hill Gardens
Another eczema sufferer here – mine flares up on my eyelids. It sucks. The first time it happened was my second year of teaching (when I ended up teaching two different science courses from what I had planned, trained for, and intended to teach: chemistry and earth science, when I have a biology background). I had a minor flare before the wedding – but knew to keep hydrocortizone on my eyelids and they were calm enough to have makeup on them the day of, thank goodness!

- Wedding: November 2014 - The Celebration Farm
My wedding is in….10 days! I’ve gained 8 pounds in the past 2 weeks, gotten a UTI (the day of my bachelorette party), a sinus infection, and just started my period yesterday! It’s been a joy hahahaha. My friend got married a few weeks ago and lost weight due to stress…wish I could say the same!

I could write a book on this as I suffer from an anxiety disorder so I feel your pain. I’ve vomited, trembled, felt like I was suffocating, paced around and lost my appetite. I even get really bad heartburn and acid reflux now. I also do get bouts of eczema….it sucks!!!

texaslemon: try yoga, seriously! Stress is SO bad for you physically and it seems you are mega stressed out. Taking an hour a day to relax and BREATHE will help you.
bkprettygirl: +1 to back and shoulders hurting!! I do yoga nearly every day but when I am at work and get stressed and can’t stretch I feel it. I also notice if I am stressed/super busy I sleep clenching my jaw 🙁 Im getting a night gaurd soon because I think my teeth are shifting…
