I know there are a lot of posts about recessional songs, but I think my situation is a little different.
I’m having all live/acoustic music, mainly piano but some guitar. I don’t want to use any canned music but I think that would be a little odd to end with that after live music. I would like a somewhat upbeat song if possible, but I’m at a total loss. At this point I don’t really care if It’s upbeat either… just need ideas.
Maybe this will give you some ideas as to what type of music I’ll be using:
“Me and You” by Kenny Chesney
“Only you Can love me This Way” by Keith Urban
“To Make you Feel My Love” Garth Brooks
Thanks for your help!!

We have a live 6 person band for our reception. During our ceremony the pianist and guitarist will play as well. Are you looking for music for your wedding party to walk to, music for the guests to enjoy while everyone is finding their seats etc… I see that you like country, would you mix it up with some of the below…
- I cross my heart, George Strait
- All you need is love, Beatles
- You’re the one that I want, Olivia Newton-John
- Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Queen or Michael Buble
- Bless This Broken Road, Rascal Flatts
- Lost in this moment, Big and Rich

Well, I told my musician to just do soft love songs for the beginning when guests are arriving, I pretty much trust her with whatever she does. Its what we and the wedding party will walk out to.
I’m liking “Lost in this Moment” and “I Cross My Heart” She suggested Bless the Broken Road, but I’m not sure thats my favorite idea. Thanks for the suggestions though.
I also thought about “Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson. What do you think?

this really isnt an upbeat song for the recessional but I heard Ben Fold’s song The Luckiest and I fell in love with it! The lyrics are a little wierd for a wedding but my cousin (who is an amazing piano player) is playing it without the lyrics. here is a link to it
he is either going to play it while people are being seated or possibly while the wedding party walks down. We are still trying to find other songs but he also has written some that he will play
