number 2 seems much easier on the logistics and headache. but if you prefer the singer, then it's not that much more of a bother in planning.
If you've heard the quartet before and love them, I'd go with them instead of the piano/singers. I just think it's more classic.
Then again, I've seen videos of weddings with string quartets who weren't all precisely in tune, and it sounded terrible. With a piano it's less likely. Just something to think about...
it sounds like option 2 is much easier, but ultimately just depends on your preference. peresonally i am a piano fan so i am doing the piano route.

Hi there,
I'm debating between the following for ceremony music:
1. Piano music and singers: primarily instrumental music + 3-4 songs by the singers interspersed throughout (the singers have beautiful voices and usually play/sing for Church ceremonies)
-I would book the singers separately from the piano. I would need to rent the piano from a different vendor. It would be an upright, as grand pianos cost too much. Rental fee is daily and includes set up and delivery. The plus side, I could possibly have the piano moved to the reception area as well and have someone play during this time. However, if the move isn't feasible, it would be for ceremony only.
vs.
2. String quartet (2 violins, viola, and cello, have also played for Church ceremonies as well as symphonies and other events)
-The musicians travel from different areas, but they would all bring their own equipment. Music would be instrumental only, but it may be easier having them bring all of their own equipment and working with one vendor.
Both music options actually cost about the same, so pricing would not be an issue. They both would stay for about 1.5-2 hours each as well. Either way, I know the music will be beautiful. :)
What is your vote? Thanks in advance!
