Bees, I need your help! I had a major meltdown yesterday. I’m not a little girl. I’m a street size 22. Based on size charts, I understand I have to purchase a Mother of the Bride dress that is a size 28! The problem?? Well, the largest the stores carry is a 14 which means I have to purchase a dress basically sight unseen and I’m a nervous wreck.
The salon is having a 20% weekend sale (once a year only) and I’m all about saving money! I’ve resigned myself that I’m happy just not happy with my size. I must embrace it and my daughter and the girls are nothing but encouraging. I have it down to four dresses and I honestly like them all equally.
Can you BEES help a mom out??? Let me know which ones you like the best? The dress will be in black. One of the dresses I found because it was the one Mrs Cheeseburgers mom wore and it looked great on her!!!
Thanks for helping

I think the first dress is beautiful. It also looks like the waist would be flattering. Good luck

I like both of the Jordan options, I voted for the lace top with short sleeves because the other one seems very form fitting. I am a plus size bride and I know, based on wedding dresses I tried on, form fitting just didn’t work on my body type–that may not be the case for you though.

It came down to the second Jordan or the first Jasmine for me. I voted for the second Jordan simply because I think it’s an easier style to wear and that it will be flattering on.

I love the second Jordan!

Bees, THANK YOU so much! I posted this message as well as sent a private Facebook message to my closest friends and the 2nd Jordon seems to be the pick. I’m going to order now! I would have been okay with any of them but just needed a little nudge to lean towards one of which that was one of them.
Thanks for helping me in my time of need

My opinion is too late to influence your choice but I agree that the second one is likely to be the most flattering. The focus is just under the bust, which is the narrowest part of the body.

I am the same size as you-only petite, so I still needed considerable alterations, but I bought my MOB gown from http://www.keepmeinstitches.biz I am usually a 2X (and I hate being this size) with my measurements taken locally, their customer service suggested a 5X (due to my tummy size) and I felt absolutely gorgeous in this gown, and I got tons of compliments! (And the price was amazing!!!)
It comes in tons of colors, including black.
Here it is on me:

Thanks everyone! I sooooo appreciate your help! I went and ordered the dress this afternoon so I could take advantage of the sale. I agree it’s probably the best option. Although the website says it’s “new” it came up flagged as discontinued. They ordered it anyway so we’re keeping our fingers crossed everything is okay. If not, I guess I’ll go with option 3 which is the first Jasmine. The actual photo on Mrs. Cheeseburger’s mom looks really good (much better than the smaller model).
Thanks again for the support. It’s bad enough being a plus size girl but when they make sizes like they are and you have to go up even another 3-4 sizes, it’s so depressing…LOL

Being a size 18 myself, I feel I would be most comfortable in the first dress with the lace around the should covering my “problem” areas. In black I think it’ll be beautiful 🙂

I like the first option the best as well. How are your arms and how do you feel about them? That was my biggest concern as MOB and eliminated many styles for me. Best of luck with your order!
