I was almost tied between picking the lime green or the pink, but went with the lime green. She looks so regal in the first picture!

Congratulations on looking into adopting a fur baby! 😀

however, the look of the puppy should be the least important factor about deciding which one to get.  You need to get a dog that will suit your lifestyle the best.  All puppies have a personality from birth which they cannot entirely be trained out of no matter how much training you put into them.

Do you have young children? Other pets? Will be away a lot? First dog together? Want a fairly submissive dog?  Then you should choose the one which is reserved, though not the “scaredy cat” as they tend to be easily startled which can cause them to bite out of fear.  The puppy should be able to be rolled over onto their back with minimal fighting you to turn back around.  This kind of dog will be fairly easily trained and will not try to fight you about whether you are its pack leader.  It shouldn’t have too much aggression either if properly socialised.

If you have a highly active life, this dog will be an only dog/get other animals at the same time and you want something with loads of personality and don’t mind extra care and attention then it will be fine to get a more dominant dog, though you should definitely get them desexed.  These are typically the ones that get picked first by inexperienced dog owners as it is usually the first one fighting for attention, licking you to death and play fighting etc.  They aren’t necessarily agressive, but can be more at risk but a dominant dog is awesome in it’s own way.

We made the mistake of getting a dominant female first time around.  We love her, but she cannot be near other dogs, near children and lives an isolated life.  She restricts our movements a lot of the time, though she is an excellent guard dog.

Our second dog we were smarter with.  We picked the placid submissive one and he was fantastic.  Easily trained and really fun.  Could take him to other peoples houses, away camping and just for walks!  Unfortunately first dog attacked him 8 weeks after getting him and we had to sadly rehome him.  I fought to put the first dog down (I get so scared that she’s dangerous as much as I love her) and keep the second one, but first dog is FI’s first dog that is his and he just loves her too much for it, though we did consider it.

Not sure if you know all this or not, but felt like sharing anyway as I wish someone had told us this the first time around.  Good luck! 🙂

I would base my choice on temperament testing rather than looks.

Awww… wish I could change my vote to red collar though since he hasn’t gotten any love yet and I think his photos are adorably dopey!

OK, in that case, I will guess light blue.  Something about the expression in his eyes appeals to me.
