Hi again everyone!!  As I'm sure many of you know by now, i am having quite the bridesmaid dress dilemma!! haha. Someone very nicely (and sooooo intelligently) came up with the idea for me to put a few dresses I am considering in a poll, not tell you guys how much each one is, and let you pick which is your favortie. I've included a pic of my dress below too so that might help in any decisions!!

ps. i was thinking we were doing dark navy but lately i have switched to black? What do you all think? So these dresses would either be in dark navy or black, even if they are not those colors in the pics :-)

To be honest I only like the first dress. I think it's inappropiate to have a huge hole in the back of a dress and some of the dresses are REALLY short and look a bit slutty. I really like the pic of the real bride in your dress. Copy what she has done, the satin dresses are classy and elegant and the material goes with the wedding dress really well.

You need to remember your girls aren't going nightclubbing they are bridesmaids and are attending a wedding..

Seeing how formal your dress is, I think these choices just aren't dressy enough. Your dress is so gorgeous and fancy, these dresses just don't look like they'll compliment you. I agree with the PP who likes the real bride pic, the long satin dresses look great with your gown.

I picked #1 because it's the most figure flattering for all body types.  The others would be a little hard to pull off on the average body type.  That being said, i like that some of the choices are fun, and not the typical bridesmaid dress.  If your bridesmaids are comfortable with wearing the more "fun" choices, then I'd say go for it!  Have they seen the choices yet?  Maybe you should make a poll for them.  :)  Good luck!

#4 will be hard to wear, since it woud be hard to find a bra that would go with that open back.

@bridetobe7844:  Agreed. All but the first one look like club dresses. 4 is ok but it's really short, I wouldn't be comfortable wearing something so short. I don't particularly love the 1st dress, it's just better than the others. Even DB's would have more options in navy.

Check out weddington way. They have a ton of dresses, many that are more budget conscious. All of these are under $250

@loveyou22:  What look are you going for? Some of those dresses seem like they are more 'party dresses' than anything. Or is is because I see college and grad school in my back mirror? Maybe it's just me but most of my friends would not be open with anything other than dress number 1/and or dress number 2 for a BM dress. OTOH, your dress is gorgeous.

@kala_way:  I love the dresses you put up. I think they encompass the first dress on this thread and work with the theme. I'm loving the last dress on the list.

I voted number 2.  Really, a lot of these dresses you have show wayy too much skin IMO.  number one would be nice, but I don't like the poof

I kindof feel like these dresses are all over the place- I feel like when people suggested the poll they meant a poll of similar dresses.

    Sorry if this seems rude.

As for the dresses that were posted by another user- I really really love the last one on the third row.

Have you looked at Amsale? She has gorgeous floor length gowns that are slightly less than ML. :)

If you're set on short, I love #1 for sure.

ha ha! So to everyone who asked: im really looking for something different and something that not everyone has seen before. also something that does not scream "bridesmaid". I personally hate long bridesmaid dresses, i think they look so boring and just SO not fashion-forward. But again, thats just my opinion. I know for sure i want to do short. and poofy. ha ha. so, thats what I'm basically trying to find

also, in case this would be helpful, all of my girls are about the same size. they all wear between sizes 0-4, so any dress that would look good on one would look good on the other i think :-)

I have, they all looked SO relieved when I said I was going to do short dresses! They all tried on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ones and seemed to like them all, so that was hugely important to me

Honestly, OP, I was in a similar dilemma a while ago about choosing a ML gown for my girls. I went ahead and chose it anyway, but I covered everything beyond the original budget I gave them. It sounds like you're really set on the ML and I get why. :p I tried that very gown on and it was frickin adorable.

    The first one looks polished.

    The others look cheap! (sorry!)

I'm wearing one almost identical to the first one in a wedding this summer, except it from DB and 1/4 the cost of the one you want from your previous posts. It is very comfortable and in navy as well, plus I love that it has pockets :) But based on the threads you've started it sounds like you've already got your mind made up :)

I went for no. 5.  Your dress is a huge statement-dress and I think that's the one that matches it the most.

OP: I like that you're going for non-bridesmaid-y bridesmaid dresses. I agree that lots of BM dresses just aren't fashion-forward... wedding dresses evolve with the times; why not BM dresses?

Anyway. I agree with PPs though that some of these dresses look tart-y and kind of cheap (whatever they may actually cost). I voted for #1, but I also like #4 and #6. #3 and #5 just look way too skimpy/costume-y to me (and I can't see #2).

Love your dress -- the whole thing's going to be gorgeous.

I haven't voted yet. OP, what kind of a wedding are you having? What is the feel you're going for?

All of the dresses seem to be going in different directions nor do they make sense with your most recent post about what to cut from your budget. The fancy glasses and your dress tell me formal/black-tie but all the BM dresses you posted suggest otherwise.

If you are wanting to go for something different, I wouldn't go with option A.  Option A looks like a normal bridesmaid dress to me.  OUt of the other options, I like #2 the best.  The other ones look to "club like" to me.

Well... I like #2 the best, but it's totally my style. Cutesy, ruffles and polka-dots are right up my alley and it would be a dress I would, for sure, wear again. BUT, I think it's a little casual for your dress.

#1 is the runner-up, but I still say no to it because I recognize it as the $450 dress that about 150 bees told you to steer clear of. Didn't they post a bunch of other options very similar to this and at a much more reasonable price point?

I do like #4 too, but I want to see the front!

I must say though... I like all of the options the other bees posted better. Especially the first one techie posted with the little flowers.

Honestly (& I'm saying this with love) I've read your previous post about your BM dresses. I think your still trying to justify the getting the first dress. I mean with the other options you've given us, its obvious the first dress is going to win in the poll. I suggest you have a serious talk with your girls and find out what they are comfortable with. At this point I don't think you are going to find your answer here. You need to talk to the people involved and find a solution.

All except the first are too non-traditional in my opinion, and even the first one is a bit bare for my tastes though I know lots of BMs wear that style.

IF you are looking for something that doesn't scream bridesmaid... well you're favorite dress screams bridesmaid, so I don't really know why you want it.

The other dresses are all over the place and don't really go with your dress. I have to agree with @Ms. Damask and a few other bees. I feel like you picked dresses, that you knew would force people to vote for the first one (your original  pick). If you REALLY don't want a dress that screams bm then your original choice isn't the way to go.

If that is the dress you want, then I feel you should fit most of the bill for it. $450 is a lot for that dress, personally I think $250 is a lot for that dress, especially when it is that short and can't be worn again. kala_way:  Gave soo many choices that are similar to your favorite and are reasonable in price.

I voted for number 2 because I recognized the first one and you just said you wanted a non bridesmaids-y dress. Number 2 is pretty and interesting

If I was asked to pay $450 or even $250 for essentially, a black cocktail dress, I would have to withdraw from the wedding. There is no way I would be able to afford that. But maybe your BM's are in a better spot financially?

I think #5 and #6 will compete with your dress which you definitely don't want. All all  the pictures, I think the first one @jpalm13: posted works the best. It doesn't look exactly like every other bridesmaid dress. However, its not poofy.

Kudos for wanting to give your girls something killer to wear but keep in mind that your dress is the star and the BM dresses should be supporting actors!

    Good luck!
