I absolutely adore the office and tech staff at my vet… and finally found a gem of a Vet there. My baby is going in tomorrow to be put under and get her teeth cleaned … and I want to take some sort of treat to the staff.
I always think about taking them something after a visit (and never do), so this time, I want to be prepared!
Trouble is… I can’t think of what to make.
DH will be going in with the dog in the morning …. so far, I’m thinking:
blueberry muffins (1 dozen). I’m thinking it’s morning, these would be a nice treat, and who doesn’t love a blueberry muffin?!
chocolate chip cookies (probably 2-3 dozen). These will last all day, everyone can have their fill – only thing is if someone isn’t a chocolate fan.
cranberry/orange scones (I can size these so there are 1-2 dozen) – These I can make in my sleep and are always a hit. They’d be the easiest to crank out, but I figured the muffins might be universally preferred??
It’s a small office and I’m guessing there are 7-10 people working there (that’s probably on the high side). I think a dozen of something would be enough for everyone to get one.
Or, if you have another idea – I’m all ears (like something store bought instead of homemade??)

I always love blueberry muffins, especially in the morning!
And, as someone currently dieting, a muffin isn’t nearly as painful to a diet as chocolate chip cookies (especaily since there would be enough that they’d sit there tempting all day).
ETA: Oh – and I personally am not a scones person.

I agree with @Mrs.KMM I’m trying to diet and I’d rather eat a muffin over a cookie 🙂

Wow. We took our dog to get his teeth cleaned this week and it cost $500 (damn you, expensive Bay Area!). I’m definitely not shelling out for blueberry muffins on top of that. You, my dear, are an angel ;-).

@crayfish: LOL… yeah, this isn’t going to be a cheap visit 🙂 It’ll be 300-400 by the end of it (I hope!). AND, they are offering a discount this month (for dental hygiene awareness), so I’m all over that! My rescue girl is a bit high-strung and I’m floored by their TLC and ability to handle her. The first vet office I went to was a NIGHTMARE in comparison, so I want to show them some love.

@oracle: We have a nervous rescue, too! That’s so awesome that you found a great vet. It can be so hard!

I would make a tried and true goodie – the scones! Yes, you are wonderful and people do appreciate an unexpected treat. I’m a teacher and one of my student’s brings me a fancy cupcake every once in a while – it is so nice!

How sweet of you. I’d pick the blueberry muffins yummo

I vote for scones. And on your way over there can you drop by my work and drop some off here as well? :-)))) haha
I love cranberry orange scones. I like the slight tartness to them.

I voted cookies but you can’t go wrong! Just do what’s easiest!

Muffins are basically breakfast cake.
Chocolate chip cookies probably are the most univeral, I voted for those! 🙂

I would do chocolate chip cookies! Simple, and not super messy!

@oracle: I vote chocolate chip cookies! My cat had to have a surgery & they squeezed me in on a day they were overbooked & really went above & beyond with helping me. I bought the vet a tub of Trader Joe’s chocolate chip cookies. I thought about making something, but idk people’s allergies. I figured that has the list of ingrediants so they’d be safe.
Whatever you make, be sure to make a little card that lists all the ingrediants :).
ETA: I think I’m too late lol, just realized this was from yesterday 😛

@canthugallcats: That’s a great idea (an ingredient list!). I know I would appreciate that… and I have never done it before when gifting homebaked goods! I will definitely do that next time!
…and, in case anyone was wondering/cares… I ended up making the scones. I was one ingredient short on the muffins and cookies and didn’t feel like treking to the store. 🙂

So nice of you to do that!! Can’t go wrong with chocolate chip cookies!!
