That's a beautiful dress but I can see how it might be difficult to move around.
May I ask where you're getting the lace for your DIY veil? I'm going to have one made but am having the hardest time picking a lace.
Thank you meliss.
I am considering this place http://sposabellalace.com/products/product_a_01.htm
but I haven't decided yet. I am still looking for the best place with the best cost. I am looking specifically for alnecon reembroidered lace and it is very expensive.
The link that I listed is the least expensive that I have found so far, but I haven't contacted them yet to see how their customer service is.
I love my dress and hope to wear it all night, but I got a backup dress for the reception just in case (I'll also be able to use the restroom alone!). I was looking at Aria's sale page and happened to see one for cheap, so that's a strategy to try if you don't want to spend the money for a second dress.
I love my dress too rachel, but it is huge with the crinoline. I don't want to knock anyone over with my gown :-)
Thank you for the tip. I will check out their site.
I love most gowns but that one I really really love!!! it is stunning!!!
Thank you VirginiaMarie, kelsidawn, Sulli301, and amanda.lynn :-)
I fell in love with it all over again.
Gorgeous dress! I love the scalloped detail along the hem!
Thank you jordynrose :-)
I am going to wear the blue shoes in my avatar with it for my something blue.
It's gorgeous good job on finding "the" wedding dress!
Noritake - you will look amazing I know it!!!! sure does feel good to have the dress sorted. And good dea for DIYing your own veil! I have zilch sowing skills :( so im completely jealous!
Best of luck!
Thank you thefuturemrsgibbs and ccranetobe. It sure does feel good knowing that I picked "the dress" and knowing my daughter loves it too makes me feel even better :-)
@ccranetobe: You could also make your own veil. Just go to Joanns or another fabric store and get a pattern for a veil on one of their sale days, if you don't feel comfortable cutting the veil without one, so you have the shape and then any embellishment you want on it, just measure the amount you need and then pin in place and sew by hand. It will take some time, but I am sure you could do it. I have seen your DIY projects and they are awesome :-)
My dress is JA too. Just wondering how long it took to get yours in after ordering.
Mine is a sample gown, so I got it right away. I just wanted to wait for the crinoline to come in before I took it home. I wanted to make sure it was full enough for the gown before I left the store with it. And the only way I could do that is to try it on and get the full look in the mirrors.
Your gown is beautiful. It is actually one that I am considering for the reception. I love love love JA gowns.
Gotcha. I am so ready for mine to come in...I can't wait! Thanks! I love JA gowns as well!!

Beekeeper
I went with my daughter to pick up my gown yesterday and tried it on for the first time for her. Before she saw it, she was a little worried about what it would look like on me, but she loved it. I don't have any pictures of me in it. I don't want to take a chance that my fiance will see it.
My problem now is that I am now considering doing something I said I would never do. I am considering now getting a second dress for the reception. When I had it on with the full crinoline, I did a practice sit and my daughter told me it looked beautiful on me, but it is as wide (approx. 5') as I am tall. I am not sure how I will be able to walk around the reception or sit next to my FI, if I keep it on for the reception.
I also tried on a couple of veils for her. I wasn't sure about wearing a veil, but we found one that looks awesome with the gown. It was $180 though, so I will be adding that to my DIY list and make my own. It will be a fingertip veil with lace that matches my gown.
I still need to get alterations on the gown, but that won't be until the end of this year or early next year.
Decisions, decisions...
I am including a picture of a model in the gown.
