I married my friend on St Patrick’s Day out of nowhere. We didn’t have rings for each other but he paid for a custom made ring at a jeweler before he left Thursday for his overseas tour (he’s military). I can do pretty much anything I want within his very generous budget.
I originally wanted a 3 stone princess cut with diamonds in the band and another band with diamonds. Then the halos started growing on me. So the jeweler is custom making me a halo ring similar to this one but with a double halo – 1.34 carat excellent cut round, cushion halo…
http://zeghani.com/itemdetails.php?products_id=1322&categories_id=5 – this isn’t the ring they’re making but it’s the closest I can find online.
It was easier to buy a man’s ring so he’s had a ring since we got married. I realized I looked like a home wrecker out with this married man so I wore a ring that I got for a costume party where I went as a bride. It was a 3 stone round with another band with diamonds and pink stones (all CZ of course). And I really liked it.
So do I go with the halo or go back to the 3 stone with another band underneath?

@marriedmyfriend: Personally I believe that the halo style will show the date of when you got the ring. I know that they have been around for awhile but they are just so prominate now. I think the 3 stone look is classic and wont show the age of when you got the ring.. so you wont be ‘dated’ into a category years and years from now. That being said, that particular halo ring you posted is just gorgeous! I would say do what you love best..

You could get a 3 stone halo, like mine 🙂

Three stone. You should make a poll.

@HeatherMM: I think that’s a great idea. I love your ring.

I looked at maybe getting a 3 stone halo. Ritani had one I liked. Honestly, there are so many styles I like that I’m just lost right now. We started dating on the 14th, got “engaged” on the 15th (got our license), and got married on the 17th. So I haven’t been thinking about anything. I need to figure out how to post pics on here…

Both! I have a three stone with a halo around the center stone. 🙂

I love both halos and three stones… but I think I like three stones a little more so my vote is for three stone. 🙂

Well I am very biased since I am taking my diamond out of a three stone ring and having it reset into a halo setting. I didn’t care for the way the 3 stone looked with a wedding band. (I’ve seen several ladies on here that have very pretty 3 stone sets – I just didn’t like it on me).
I think you need to go to a jeweler and try on different rings in person. There were so many I liked on the computer that I didn’t like in person. Conversely, the setting I ultimately chose didn’t look like much on the computer, but I loved it once I tried it on.

I cant tell you what style to chose just make sure you take your time! I had a 3 stone ring and loved it at first but then ended up really disliking it because it was too ” busy ” for everyday wear. I ended up regretting my decision and I did chose it myself as well. I say you go for something you can dress up or down whenever you want. I vote for halo since if you get tired of it later on you can set the center stone in a solitaire. Then again you can get the 3 stone and do the same and possibly turn the side stones into earrings? Usually the center stone in 3 stone rings is smaller though.
Go for something you love and don’t worry what others say or else you’ll get a ring you don’t love. It’s so hard and if anyone has had a hard time choosing its me.
