It’s taken months of work, but it was so worth it! This is my first post, so please forgive me if I make any mistakes. I work as a graphic designer with a strong interest in naturalism, specifically in geology. I really wanted something artistic, unique, hand made, and one-of-a-kind. My FI knew this about me, and I was given the privilege of designing my own ring. This is the result. We got in touch with Wexford Jewelers to make it happen, and I got the first pictures of the e-ring today. If you have any questions about the process just ask! Let me know what you think!

vespria: Where the f*ck did you get a .98 carat Alexandrite???!!! Your ring belongs in an exhibit. So gorgeous!

Here are some pictures I took of the stone because I’m still overly excited!
It took forever to find a reliable source to get actual, natural, untreated, alexandrite (there are so many scammers out there it’s ridiculous)! We eventually found David Wien, a jewelry supplier, and made our gemstone purchase through him, complete with GIA certification (for my piece of mind). It’s the perfect color, and buying a real alex separate from the ring was surprisingly more cost effective. Also, the stone is not perfectly saturated; I preferred the more pistachio green, to lavender, to pink, color shift, as opposed to a dark blue-green to deep raspberry one—which was a teensy bit less expensive.
