I have had the worst experience so far with my dress (which I love). So I order my dress last July and they say okay it should be in November. I am like no big deal the wedding is in May. Now I am plus size and was kinda shocked that my normal size 16/18 had turned into a bridal size 26 but whatever as long as it fits and looks good right. So they call me last week – 2 months after the dress was supposed to come in but still 4 months before the wedding. I go and try it on and the thing is humungous. Like no joke – at least 4 sizes too big if i didn’t hold it up it would fall off. So I tell the girl something seems wrong I tried on the sample size 26 and it was no where near this big. She remeasures me and sure enough my sizes havent changed (unfortunately lol). So she says leave the dress here and I will have the seamstress measure it to see if the size is right. Well they call me on Saturday saying they shipped the dress back because the size is wrong and are supposed to get a new one express shipped by early February. Now I am freaking out that it took 6 months to get the first one what if they dont get this new one in time….aaahhhhhhhh!! Did anyone else have a similar problem – how was it resolved??
Here is my dress…

I had a similar problem earlier this month. In November I ordered my dress from Davids Bridal. I am normally a street size 6/8 but in the dress I was a size 12. They didn’t have it in store so they ordered it for me. Same as you, I am getting married in May. When I went to pick up my dress it was huge!! I was swimming in this thing. The lady said they would reorder the dress for me a size down and work with alterations. #1 they said my dress wouldn’t come in until mid-march!! #2 they quoted me an additional 400-500 dollars in alterations. I was horrified! Lucky for me their manager was great and Fiance was able to convince her to give me a full refund (he works in management himself and knows how to work customer service). I then found a highly reputable seamstress online who custom makes gowns and ordered from there a dress even more beautiful then my original one at more than 50% discounted from the price of my original. And I won’t need many alterations. Many bridal shops however refuse refunds which makes incidents like these that much more frustrating. Best of luck to you . . . I would make sure to hound them about getting that dress in on time because these bridal shops just don’t seem to care at all.
