In light of a lot of threads on here, it seems some brides sure pick some unworthy battles, whether it be in their personal wedding or with other bees on here. My mom always told me to pick my battles growing up, and it means more now that I’m older and getting married. Has anyone else been taught this? I’m curious to know what battles you pick and don’t pick and if they’re worth it. They can be wedding related or life in general. They can be serious, funny, silly, anything! This is not intended to be a debate or start a feud so please keep it light-hearted.
I’ll start. When FI and I bought our house, I assumed he would stop living like a complete bachelor. He always threw his clothes on the floor in our bedroom and bathroom, where’d they stay for days. So I made a deal with him that if I put a hamper near his side of the bed he would put his clothes in it. The clothes still end up on the floor in front of the hamper, literally 2 inches away. Now it doesn’t take any more effort to aim them a little right where they would land in the hamper, which I’ve nicely explained to him. Well he choses not to put them in the hamper no matter what, so I gave up on the battle. To me, it’s not worth it. It really doesn’t hurt anything if they’re on the floor, and he does pick them up to do his laundry when the time comes. No harm done. War averted.
So tell me, what’s one of yours?
