So, I know that when I take my dress back in to David’s Bridal for fittings they will probably be able to answer this, but it’s starting to bug me now.
My dress has a pick-up skirt. I absolutely adore the way pick-ups look on a dress. But, there is a bit of a train on my dress (sweep train) which I would want bustled. Now, most bustles I have seen online the fabric just looks pulled funny, and I feel like it would absolutely ruin the look of my pickup skirt.
Does anyone know if there is a way you can bustle a pickup skirt that just continues with the pickups and looks natural with the rest of the skirt?
For reference, this is my dress:

I’d do a ballroom bustle. The train is scooped underneath and the skirt looks like there was never a train at all.
ETA: there are two different types of bustle that people call a ballroom bustle. You would want the underbustle/flip-train style, not the multipoint overbustle type.

You might like the way mine was done. The seamstress sewed 48 different ribbons into the back of the dress and numbered them so we could match the (24) pairs up and tie them. It took a few minutes to do, but I liked it!
