@Missrm:  Well we would probably need to know how much you paid for the bow to know if $250 is fair or not.  And were you in charge of shipping or were they?

Well not much you can do about it now… the place has offered a portion of your payment back and I think that is fair. It sucks for sure but the cake still looks beautiful and I’m sure no one cared/realized. These things happen sometimes I’m sure.

ETA: This happened in July and nothing has been done about it yet? More deets!

@Missrm:  you should accept it.

My cake was not at all what the pictures looked like and was crooked.  I just moved on. NO ONE even noticed/cared.

@Missrm:  At this point there isn’t much else they cna do to fix it.  I am surprised they even offered $250.  I would take it and get over it.  Hopefully your photographer got creative and took some shots where you can’t see the tear.

That seems like a pretty fair refund since the rest of the cake was fine. The arbor we rented from our florist collapsed during the processional (without hurting anyone) and the florist offered to refund us the cost of the arbor.

That is fair – they are refunding the entire price of the bow, since it was pretty much 100% ruined they did the right thing.

They really will never be able to make it 100% right – without a time machine 🙁

It’s unfortunate but accidents happen.

Just have to say it – that is a HUGE bow!  It is (or would have been) very pretty. Sorry this happened to you.

That is a shame, I’m sorry! I would be very upset. However, I guess I would see if they are willing to negotiate at all. If $250 was their offer, I would come back with say $500 or maybe $350 and see what they say. It’s not so much about the bow, but that it throws off the look.

@Missrm:  I think $250, a full refund of the cost of the bow, is fair. You should accept it and then do whatever you need to do to move on. It’s a shame that it wasn’t perfect, but screws  fall out all the time, the world’s an imperfect place. It’s inevitable that something will go wrong at every wedding; in the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes.

@Missrm:  What more could you want?  Yes, it’s fair.

I think it is fair.  You are refunded what you paid for the bow.  Makes sense to me.

I think it’s fair. I think it was still a lovely cake even with the tear in the bow.
