i think its beautiful and matches the original really close!!! congrats! :D cant wait to see it on ya!
i actually like the replica better!!! :) the embroidery at the top is divine! YAY! congrats! don't forget to come back and let us see it one you!!! :)
@anotheroneofmany: Thank you! I definately will!
The embroidery (as opposed to just beading) was a request I made. I found a dress on their site that had embroidery that I liked and asked them to do that with the beading to help it look more like the inspiration pic.
The rusching under the bust and where it hits in the whole boob vs ribs area is much lower than the inspiration and the one you tried on in the store. That area will be in all your photos. If you're happy with it then it is fine, but I thought I'd point it out.
omg its a wonderfull dress i love it!!! better than the one you have in the pics gratz
I think it looks great! Just curious, what happened with Alfred Angelo? I ordered a dress from them and I haven't been super impressed either.
Oh My! It looks very beautiful and incredibly similiar to the Original!
Congrats!
@risingsun: Oh my goodness. They were just about the rudest people I've ever met on several occassions. Now, I completely understand their requirement that you make an appointment to try on dresses. That makes complete sense to me because you really do need a lot of attention when you are trying on a million gowns, some of which are 30+ pounds.
But they treated my maids like trash. My FMIL wandered into the store with us to just look. (Read: no intention of trying ANYTHING on, just wanted to see fabrics colors). They kicked her out of the store. LITERALLY. Told her she wasn't even allowed to be in the store without an appointment.
They pressured me a ton about my dresses. My experience at Davids Bridal was MUCH better in that regard, but they were a little less organized. Still, I'd rather take disorganized than rude.
I had this experience with two different AA shops in two different states. Also, when i tried on the dress above, they only at a size 16 in the store (i'm a size 8). So when I expressed some concern about the way the dress would "really" fit (since I had half a dress clipped in the back), the saleswoman was incredibly rude and said "It'll fit just like I'm clipping it.. thats why I'm clipping it for you to see..." in this really nasty tone. So I politely pointed out that the side seams were not even on the side, etc, so that it *wouldn't* fit the same... and she just got exasperated and said "Fine, then lets just move on".
@GreenDream - Thanks for pointing that out! I'm not sure that I notice it, but I will definately keep a critical eye out for it when I try it on :)
@2Punk2bPretty what a mess! Kicked her out of the store?! I seem to see that a lot on wedding boards and reviews that the bridal party/family gets treated horribly, it happens at a lot of stores and it's disgusting.
My consultant was a friend of my fiance's mom, so she was very helpful and friendly, and so was other lady that I sweet-talked into giving me a free color swatch of my dress. I really couldn't complain about that. But I ordered my dress in October, and at the time they said it would be in the store by December or January. Then the website shipping date said it would ship by January 27. Then on 1/25 it got bumped back to 2/20, which puts it two weeks over the 14-week max on the AA website. My wedding's in June, so I should be ok, but I wish they would have just told me it would take this long... I've been getting excited about it since December! So you probably dodged another headache by not even ordering from them at all.
It's a beautiful dress and looks like it has a nice full crinoline, but I agree with GreenDream that the beaded area comes down lower and might throw proportions off a bit. Maybe they could put in a small panel across there where the wraps from each side come together to give it that upside down sweetheart like the original seems to have.
Wow i really like the look of the replica better than the original, it looks very well made!! Almost makes me wish I had had the nerve to order mine from them! The dress is beautiful btw
I just sent them an email, so hopefully I caught them before its too late!! :) Thanks for the heads up on the panel in the front!
Oh my ... !! Its just gorgeous... When I started reading your post I wasnt too excited about the model picture.. but then I saw YOUR dress... its gorgeous ! I like it so much :) Its just lovely ! Cant wait to see it on you !
Unfortunately I didn't catch them in time to alter the top. But I am sure it will look fine :) I can always try to find someone stateside to fix it if it somehow throws off the whole look of the dress, but I don't think it will.
Now, too crinoline or not to crinoline...
Looks beautiful to me!! Can't wait to see your pics once you receive it!!

Ladies!
As some of you may know, I had a pretty annoying experience at Alfred Angelo. To the point where I didn't want to fork over $1000 to them for a dress. So after perusing the boards on what to do, it was recommended I have it made.
I got my "approval" pics today and I. Am. In. Awe.
Here is my inspiration picture:
I loved this dress... only in the store it didn't really look the way it does online. The online picture is more tailored and the detailing is darker. For reference, here is the in-store dress on me (i'm holding it in the back, sorry for the wierd pose, lol):
So with that in mind, I ordered from DressilyMe.com. And I wont bore you with more words, I'll just get straight to the pics!
SO! What do you think? Is there an unbiased soul out there who can find anything I need to point out before I tell them to ship it?
