We rescued Dexter just before Christmas last year – I wanted a beagle but we just don’t have time for a puppy plus I was keen to rescue if possible, so when he came up on a beagle rescue Facebook page I follow, we went to the shelter straight away and he came home with us 🙂 he’s nine, he’s a complete goofball and is generally a really really awesome dog.  DH was literally two days out of hospital after a kidney transplant – the doctors told him he needed to get his fitness up by walking, so a dog seemed like the best idea!

My precious little Christmas presents, 2014 Rudolph the brown and white Guinea Pig and Sugarplum the black and white Guinea Pig. We love them so much!

Also my family had a beautiful Beagle Mickey who departed after 16 gorgeous years October 2016.

This is Violet, our 5.5 year old Brussels griffon/Scottish terrier mix, and Toby, our 3 (next month) year old basset/border collie mix. We won a professional photo session for them in a raffle at a benefit for our local humane society and just got their pics back. This was my favorite!

Pet threads are the best threads!

This is Mike, my 18-year-old off the track Thoroughbred. I’ve had him since he was 7. He has no idea he’s an old man and acts as fiesty as he did when he was young.

Tucker, adopted him as a kitten, he’s 5 now. Aloof by day and super cuddler by night.

Benji, a rescue of indeterminate age (2-3ish??); we’ve had him for 9 months. He’s an absolute love bug.

These are my two lab pups who love water and mud more than anything. They aren’t actual siblings – Kira is actually half golden retriever.

Kira is the sweetie looking at the camera. She likes chasing butterflies and cuddling, and she nips her brother when he jumps on people. She has no interest in fetch whatsoever. Scout is the dirty boy focused on something in the yard. He wants to play fetch every second he’s awake and doesn’t like to cuddle so much as flop on your feet at the most inconvenient times.

Scout looking regal AF, surveying his PNW wonderland and getting excited for duck season.

This is Fitzgerald, who we think is a Norwegian forest cat. We adopted him from the Humane Society when he was 2. He likes to be held like a baby and is never more than two feet from me. While I do dishes, he lounges casually on the floor like he just happened to want to chill there. He’s the first cat my husband (who thought he didn’t like cats) has ever had and they are in love. He’s a real gem.

And here’s the perfect representation of who runs our house!

This is Kona! We rescued her about 2 months ago from a local shelter, and she has been such an amazing addition! She’s also special for me because she’s my ESA (emotional support animal) because I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and she’s seriously like a best friend for me 🙂
