Um…I do share on the Bee and this would be a great place to find theft opportunities if we shared our names! Seriously, I did post on FB because I was excited and not thinking a ton, but  it is like a big sign saying “rob me”. Just like when people post on FB when they are out of town.

I have posted my rings before a long time back but since then I’ve changed my laptop and now work from a company-owned one. I am too lazy to take new photos and put them on here. Also, my boss has access to this laptop and I don’t want her doing what my husband did when he got my previous laptop which was say “ummm…so I saw the shrine to your rings. that was a LOT of pictures”. Embarassed

@atacrossroads:  If someone knew me IRL and cared to look there are pics of our house, our cars, etc. on social networking sites because I work from home and all of our family is elsewhere geographically so we share a bit via social networking. I don’t post specific pics saying ‘LOOK AT MY FABULOUS HOUSE AT THE BEACH” but like when my husband installed some really cool ceiling fans I posted pics of them and you can see the interior of our house somewhat and when we had our golf cart customized we posted before and after pics of it. I wouldn’t post them here on the Bee because there is no reason to but if someone asked, I certainly would. A few people know who I am here on the Bee as we are FB friends so they have all seen them. I have not posted pics of all of my jewelry but my rings are here, probably enough to make people sick. Tongue Out It’s the only place I REALLY feel comfortable sharing them, with other Bees who are also into jewelry and rings, etc.

@atacrossroads:  I can only think of one or two bees that talk about their rings often and have NEVER posted them.  I don’t know how seriously I take those posts anyway. As far as pics of a house or anything else I could definitely see why people don’t want to share that.

@atacrossroads:  I get what your are saying, however there might be a good reason for not putting things out there:  I had a stalker several years ago and had to hire a PI to find him as my local cops were less than enthusiastic about commiting their time to helping me.  What I found out is that he was stalking me online and self-censoring what I put out there will decrease risk of being vicitimzed.

If someone doubts my word b/c I’m not publishing my life, well that’s on them.  I really don’t care.

@atacrossroads:  I also think “pics or it didn’t happen.” We’ve all read stories spun wildly outside the realm of plausibility, so I remain skeptical online. I don’t see why someone who won’t disclose a picture of their jewelry would care if strangers don’t totally believe them anyway, so I don’t see the harm in that type of skepticism. So any time one of these ultra-secretive people posts something, I just think “yeah, uh huh” and move on.

ETA: I like posting my ring, the only reason I don’t do it more often is because I know how deeply offended some people are by “simulants”, and I don’t want to cause any fainting spells 😉

@Taeyers:  LOL

I can only think of 1 ring that’s secret. I honestly have no desire to see it either it sounds rather boring.

I think I’ve posted a picture of my stand in (purchased w/ the intention to upgrade in the future) ering. I love it because of it’s sentimental value to me but I know there are barely any fans of CZ’s on this site – 10k white gold CZ side and center stones. My upgraded ring will have a Moissy center stone/diamond side stones and I know there are a lot of Moissy fans on here so I’ve already posted pictures of it so far, it’s still in the process of being completed by the jeweler.

What makes me nervous are people stealing photos and using them as their own, I’ve been on WB for only a few weeks and I’ve witnessed several OP’s get outed for posting pictures they find on Google images.
