@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: FI and I have a few cute pictures of us at baseball games, weddings, etc. on our nightstands, and some sweet kissy pictures in the bathroom. Otherwise, we're waiting until we buy a house to buy art and fancy frames for our pictures :)
Most are hanging on the wall to keep the glass free of fingerprints from tiny hands. There are a few on tables through-out the house.
99% of our photos are of FI's family. There are a few of us, but mostly family.
We have them on the wall and on the entertainment center and various tables. Wedding pics, honeymoon and vacation, hanging out with friends, and family. Its a good mix, I think :)
We have a bunch of family photos all in pewter frames that I display in our bedroom.
We also have some prints of us and places we have been all done in black and white in the same square white frame in the living and dining room.
So the general consensus is that a good mix of family with a few friends?
We have a few on side tables in the living room, bookshelf and our nightstands/dressers. However right now I am in the works of creating a gallery wall for one of my rooms and updating pictures as well. We have a few of us, a bunch of nature pictures taken on different vacations and a few of family. We actually dont have any pictures of friends.
We have 3 photo display areas, currently.
The first is standing on a console table by our front door. It is a mish-mash of friends and family, random scenery photos from places we've been, and a couple pieces of art/our wedding invitation.
The second is a wall gallery of black and whites. It is just close family and all are professional photos from the slew of weddings we've had the past few years. I love when photographers post their photos in online galleries you can buy from! Everyone is dressed up and the pictures are typically very organic. ( aka: most people don't even realize they're being photographed).
The third is in my husband's man-room. He's big into hunting and fishing, so it is a wall gallery of photos from his trips and trophies. It is really large, and people are drawn to that gallery for some reason. They really enjoy it.
I have tons of pictures throughout my house Pictures are my main decor....
I tend to stick to black frames so it all looks uniform but I have several small clusters on dressers end tables etc along with a few decorative items...
I also have small collages of them grouped together on the wall... I also have several frames That hold multiple pictures to form its own collage. I tend to stick to black and white pictures or group ones from the same Event/color scheme
I have a few display areas, but my favorite is my full wall gallery. I put up ledges at different heights, and the frames (small to large) rest on them and overlap a bit. That way, I can switch things up without worrying about nails, nail holes, etc.
oh man, i have so many pictures - my father owns a custom framing store so i dont have a wall in my house that doesnt have a picture on it.
no wedding pictures yet, but my mom bought one of those groupons where you can get prints put on canvas so i think im going to do that with one of our wedding pictures to hang in the house.
i also have pictures in frames on tables or shelves some of family and some of us. but mostly i have prints on the walls.
We have some in our hallway framed... We take pictures every fall.. so some of just us.. pregnancy pics, and now us with our son.. Then I have some on tables and some in the bedroom in fun frames on the wall. I think it makes the apartment look more homey.. lol
@blu77: What kind of ledges do you use? We're looking at installing a mantel of somesort over our fireplace and using that but beyond that we're at a loss- and we'll be moving out of this apartment in a year or so fewer holes is a plus.
I used to have frames all over, but since we moved into our house, I have been trying to implement a "less is more" vision, so I don't have many frames on shelves, on tables, etc.
I used one of our large living room walls to create a wall collage that creates a rectangle outline vs. many of the wall collages we are seeing recently that are more random.

So Bees… How do you display pictures in your home?
Not just wedding/engagement pictures but any pictures.
Do you display any? Mounted on the wall? On Tables? On the Ceiling? What pictures do you display- Family? Friends? Events?
I realized today that the only pictures I have displayed are from high school (there are five of my AP Gov/Model UN/We The People group, mostly the same people in DC or Valley Forge) and I’d like to update this with a grown up alternative- most of my pictures are just taped to my apartment wall (thank you, dorm life).
