We are not doing much traditional for our wedding. BUT, I want to stick with the traditional “not seeing eachother before the ceremony”. If you do that, how do you get pictures in after and not bore the guests waiting for you?! Do I just give in and do pictures before the ceremony??

Having a first look and taking pictures before the ceremony was literally my favorite part of our wedding day! It allowed to me to relax a bit before the ceremony and the time spent with my husband before the ceremony was awesome. I would recommend it to anyone!

We are doing all of the family shoots before the ceremony. We’ll probably do a first look, see if the mood strikes!

Your options are a “first look” prior to the ceremony or pictures during the cocktail hour. There are a number of threads here that discuss the pros and cons of both.
We’re doing a “first look” for both convenience (we want to attend our own pastry hour) and because we love the idea of having some private time to take photos before the rest of the hectic day begins. Also, in wintertime the light will be better in the morning before the 11:30am ceremony.

We aren’t doing a first look.. I thought it might be a good idea but Kingy said he’s been fighting temptation to see my dress for a year now and he doesn’t want to ruin it just for pictures.. so we’ll do them after 🙂

We didn’t get alot of us pictures… but we already had planned on a ttd session so we could take care of that then.
We were no go on first looks…. along with wanting to keep tradition, we would’ve never had time.. if you see my timeline on your other post you’ll see what I’m talking about

I like the idea of the first look pictures etc.. but FI says its more special if we wait till I walk down the aisle. He doesnt want to see me before that. so we compromised with an around the corner pic (which I love) and seeing eachother for the first time right before we get married 🙂

our photographer pointed out that we will look a lot “fresher” before the ceremony!

I’m actually doing both. More of first look prior and then additional after the ceremony.

Pretty sure we’re going to do a first look (I hope!) to get a bunch of pictures out of the way, including awesome ones of me and FI, and hopefully some additional family ones. We’re going to have an epic cocktail hour and I really don’t want to miss it because I’m taking pictures… the more we can get out of the way before the festivities begin, the better!
