Well most will have digital cameras.  Set up a shutterfly or snapfish account.  Pass out little business cards with the address instructing your guests how to upload the photos.  For other guests that might not have digital cameras still give them a card so they know you want the photos.  Then you can just scan them in yourself.

I’d give the cards a try.  I put them in our thank you cards, and no takers… but you may have better luck.

We set up a Winkflash account.  (We preferred Winkflash to other photo-sharing sites, because a) it’s free, b) it allows unlimited uploads and downloads, and c) it permits free download of the full hi-res images.)  We then ordered business cards from Vistaprint that looked like this:

Back:

We handed these out to everyone at the wedding, and ended up with a couple hundred photos uploaded.

I think that handing them out at the wedding, and maybe even including them on your wedding website, works better than sending them with thank-you cards.  By the time thank-you cards are sent, the wedding isn’t as immediate, so people may be less likely to upload photos.

I forget where it was on here, but I saw a couple people made up a photo scavenger hunt sheet that they left on the tables, so it gives people some motivation to try to get the pics that you really want (ie. you’ll have different views of your first kiss, or the cake cutting or something), and obviously people are going to take pics, so hopefully you can get some!

@2dBride: Thanks for the idea!  I might have to do that.
