If your wedding is in fall, you should just collect some leaves that have fallen off the trees and use those instead of flower petals…. cheaper and VERY unique! 🙂

@keevolpi:  I had real petals line the aisle.  I was warned against and aisle runner–horror stories of the bride and wedding party tripping on them!  Just something to think about.  What I did was below, and was super easy.  No real prep–just open the bag and sprinkle. 🙂

@keevolpi:  I had a full petal aisle runner. I used 2 different colors. Dark pink, light pink and ivory. I loved it and it was very much worth all the labor that went into making it!

and on the wedding day

@MeiFrancis:  I want to make this! It is so pretty. Maybe my FH can wreck his neck and back for me! Ha ha. Well, it’s ok if he gets a little stiff from the bending over.

Soooooooo pretty. I gotta get on it!

@keevolpi:  Either way you go, I’m sure it will look gorgeous!  If you wanna be lazy (like I was!) you can order the rose petals already plucked, if you go the real route.  Have them shipped a day or two before the wedding.  Leave them in a not-hot place (not the fridge, but out of the heat/sun), in their bags.  They will be just fine on the big day.  I decided to order them in a dark color so I didn’t have to worry about the petals browning on the edges.  I ordered them from http://www.flowerexplosion.com, and they delivered on time and looked perfect. Good luck! 🙂

@keevolpi:  Thanks so much! No mine was very secure. I used non slip backing on the underneath side like the stuff you put under carpet rugs to keep them from slipping. I lined the back of it to be on the safe side. My runner was on a tile surface so I didn’t sink into it or anything…..I think if you were getting married on grass it might be easier to trip over thou b/c you mihgt sink into it more with heels on a grassy surface.
