- Wedding: May 2014
So after a lot of drama and having to change the ceremony site twice in the last two weeks, I finally decided to get married in the same church my Grandparents, Parents, Aunt, & Uncle were married. We’re not a very religious couple but we both grew up in baptist churches so we thought it would be nice to be married in one. Here’s a picture of the outside, then a couple pictures of the sanctuary.
I think it’s gorgeous!
However I was set on having a “Wine” Ceremony where we both pour wine into something and drink from it instead of doing a unity candle. When I mentioned this, the wedding coordinator seemed so offended and said “We would NOT allow wine in a BAPTIST church!” Lol geez okay!
So now I am at a loss for what to do. I really don’t want to do the unity candle/sand. Do we have to do something like this? I’m thinking about just skipping this part and maybe doing the Wine ceremony at our reception because we really liked the idea of that. Also our whole reception theme is based on wine so it wouldn’t feel out of place.
What do you bees think?
