@MrsPanda99:  lol, yes.  the flying squirrel was actually an unwelcome guest in our attic (we caught and released another 30 or so).  But that was the first one we caught, and he was a baby, so we were able to sort of train him to be more pet like.

The koala and kangaroo photos (and the olive python one) are from my 2008 trip to Australia – I backpacked solo for 2 months! The elephant and boa photos are from a 2011 trip throughout Southeast Asia. Elephants in Luang Prabang, and the boa was a peat belonging to the owners of a little hotel in the jungle on the Mekong Delta.

I absolutely LOVE all of these pictures!

My dad signed me up for the Dolphin Interaction Program at Seaworld when I was about 12. Ever since I was 6, I was dead set on becoming a dolphin trainer. If you can’t tell by my avatar, they’re my favorite animal.

Being climbed on by this 2-week-old elephant may have been the best 10 seconds of my life!  (No I wasn’t being humped despite how it looks.)

@MrsPanda99:  Haha I don’t remember Kakadu (the koala’s name!) being too stinky, but he was soft! Though he seemed to be kind of waxy – they probably have some kind of film on their fur! I love snakes, though I MUCH prefer the less-bitey ones, and there’s no way in hell you’d get me near a poisonous snake. I don’t have a death wish.

With Loverboy the Mona monkey (he has a scar on his face so you can tell him apart, he is also the most social one):

FI with a lobster, I kept trying to make him get closer to it, but it started rearing up at him!

@MrsPanda99:  There is a small local rescue zoo near me that takes in unwanted/illegal exotic animals (all of the animals are found or from animal control).  These are some of the cubs that they got this spring and we got to go feed them as part of a fundraiser for the zoo.  They look really cute, but they’re actually incredibly strong for their size and very bitey.  However, they get do adorably sleepy after a bottle.
