We will have a pie buffet at our reception and I’m still looking for ideas/recipes.
So far I was thinking:
- caramel and chocolate
- rhubarb and cream
What’s your favorite pie?

Hey, these sound great. I started a similar thread when I was deciding which pies to serve. I put up a poll – it helped a lot in my decision. I even went with what the majority of votes were and I got 5 great pies out of it.

Peanut butter! (Oreo crust, peanut butter/cream cheese whipped filling, chopped peanut butter cups). Also, Dutch cinnamon apple. And pumpkin!

Peanut butter pie, coconut cream, lemon meringue, cherry cream cheese

That was the best survey ever. I love pie! At a September wedding you NEED pumpkin pie though!

Agree, you need pumpkin!!! Mmmmmm….I’m not a huge pie fan, but I love Pumpkin and Pecan pie.
And cheesecake, yeah I could eat that stuff daily.

You forgot the best pie of all time – Key Lime!

The only pie I like is key lime pie. I don’t consider cheesecake a type of pie, but I like that too.

I really love cheese cake and pecan pie. I have never had peanut butter pie but it sounds amazing.

My favorite isn’t on the list. I love Strawberry Rhubarb pie! It’s my absolute favorite hands down.

mmmm, i am getting hungry. that’s a lot of pie. how many do you plan on having??
i would make sure that you have a variety of textures too. you have 4 fruit pies. i would omit one or two and add pumpkin. also add either lemon meringue or key lime. and either coconut cream or chocolate cream. peanut butter chocolate pie is amazing too.
sounds like a great buffet. fun and yummy.

My favorite pie (the only one I actually eat) is chocolate chip pie. Derby pie is also really good (chocolate, walnuts, bourbon). Basically I think fruit in a dessert should be illegal

My FAVORITE is pumpkin! But it’s not listed. Peanut butter chocolate ies are amazing! Yum. Now I want pie…

@mypinkshoes: we plan on having 10-14 pies (we’ll also have wedding cake: chocolate with raspberry ganache, almond with praline filling and marble with passionfruit filling)
we need to make them 1-2 days in advance, that’s why I thought fruit would be best…. but I don’t know…
I also don’t consider cheesecake a pie, but we love cheesecake so there will be one almost definitely.
