My baby isn't old enough for solids yet but I still want to make them! Too bad I'm on a diet :(
I'd think real cheese would be better though. Let us know how they turn out!
I've made them...for me. LOL! I don't do cheese though.
my worker made mini ones of these with cocktail weenies this morning! no cheese though. i would probably lean towards real cheese, but you could make half and half and report back!
I definitely will report back. I wish I could just leave work and make them now!
I make them all the time, and we use velveeta slices. They melt better then real cheese and don't get quite as greasy in our opinion. They are super easy.
i get these but i buy the mini dogs from hilshire farms with the cheese inside of them. Then we roll them up an its piggies in a blanket :) ...my kids prefer the minis over the big dogs
@dallasbride2012: thats what I was thinking about, that if I used real cheese they might not melt in the same way.
I feel silly that I'm making these for me, I dont even have kids yet.
Don't worry, we don't have kids either and these are in the rotation. Its nice because they are quick and easy, and they don't have to thaw. Plus my FH can cook them!
We use beef sausage instead of hot dogs, they have a little more flavor. They are about as wide as the cresent rolls are. Another thing we use are the reduced fat rolls, they actually taste better then the orginals.
I don't have kids, but my husband pretty much qualifies when it comes to food, and he'd love these. :)
Ha, I'm making these tonight for dinner, what a coincedence. I'm planning on using real cheese, but I'm going to grate it.
I've been craving it since hte commercials too.
I made these yesterday! I ended up using velveeta processed cheese slices and jennie-o turkey franks. I heated up the franks seperately first to make sure they wouldbe cooked all the way through. It turned out great, dh loved them!

For those of you that have kids, have you tried this recipe?
I've been craving this everytime I see it on tv and I want to try it out, I know its very straightforward recipe but the one question I have is with the cheese. Do you use processed cheese slices or real cheese? Which works out better?
