I've tried pink champagne cake, and it's so good! The cake that we tried wasn't actaully "pink" though, it was kind of a creamy blush color, almost beige-ish, so you don't have to worry about the cake looking like a pink baby shower cake! Anyway, if someone chooses red velvet, pistachio, or chocolate, even if it doesn't go with their color scheme, as a guest would you really care about the color if it tasted super yummy? :)
While I'm personally not a huge fan of the sweetness of pink champagne I do think it is a perfectable acceptable option for a wedding. Why not?
And I agree with the PP that unless they add food coloring it is typically more of a blush color than obvious pink.
I was caught in the what I like vs. what's traditional thing too... save yourself the headaches and just go with what you both like. If it tastes amazing, that's all your guests will care about! I saw an amazing pink layer cake (the outside doesn't have to pink, btw) after my wedding and I had seen it before, I would have loved to have something like it. :)
Possibly for one tier, but not the whole cake. But why pink champagne and not just champagne?
It sounds fabulous to me! If your FI doesn't mind I wouldn't see it as a problem. MY FI is evry manly and I don't think he would think twice about a pink champagne cake as long as it was yummy :)
Thanks for the opinions ladies! I'm glad to hear that it is generally a blush color which I think I would love - I was afraid that it would be a baby pink color! I ordered it with the baker so we will see on monday how good it tastes - this is so much more fun than assembling wedding invites!
it is AMAZING. o my goodness ours will be the top layer with strawberry cream filling. i cant wait. fiance and me wanted to do a chocolate peanut butter one bad but there are peanut allergies so we said if it was amazing we will do it... well we did cake tasting and it was eh okay. and then she suggested the pink champange. SO GLAD SHE DID. and the outside of the cake is all white with bling so its not gonna look like a sweet sixteen or baby shower cake
I think it sounds beautiful (and delicious)! But my dress is pink so perhaps I am not the best person to ask!

So we are in the middle of setting up some cake tasting at the moment and one bakery asked us to select a cake that they will make a little sample of for our appointment. So we looked at all their flavors and while we were leaving towards golden butter and some of the more traditional ones, we decided to go with pink champagne with cream filling for our tasting - just to see if we moght like it better! So now I am worried that a pink champagne cake will be too bridal / baby girl shower? has anyone had a pink champagne cake for their wedding? Opinions? Thanks gals,
