I've always wanted to go the non traditional route when it came to engagement rings. Initially I thought I would get an emerald, but that was when I was much younger and loved the color green! I'm looking into a pink sapphire ring and would love it if any bees would be willing to share pics of their rings. I've looked online, but am looking for some more inspiration :)

FH is getting something customed designed so that means I can end my search! LOL I can't wait to see it :)

It sounds lovely! I have a ring with pink sapphires in it (not my enggement ring) and I love it!

How exciting!  You might want to check out www.pricescope.com.  It's a jewelry forum, and if you do a search on pink sapphire rings you should come up with a lot.  Also, they have an entire thread of just colored stone e-rings to give you some more ideas.

My ring isn't a pink sapphire, it is a morganite, but the colour is almost identical to the really pale pink sapphires. I'll put up a pic for you- even though the stone isn't the same, the colour will give you a bit of an idea. I know there are a couple of other bees on here with pink sapphire rings.

Also check out etsy. Laurie Sarah Designs has some gorgeous pink sapphire rings.

Here's mine (The stock photo give a much better representation of the actual colour- my pics make it look a bit peachy, but it isn't at all):

@Treasure They look so feminine and glamorous at the same time.

@Austen Thanks for link! I'm definitely going to be reading and sending ideas that I like to FH :P

@thatelisagirl What a gorgeous ring! I love it and it's what I want. I requested a pale pink sapphire. They resemble pink diamonds...lol

Do any of you get negative comments because you didn't get the traditional diamond?

I have a pink sapphire engagement ring and I love it!! I didn't want a diamond so I did a little research and found the Natural Sapphire Company (thenaturalsapphirecompany.com) and they were absolutely amazing to work with. I got my ring custom-made. When it first arrived, I wasn't thrilled with how thin the band was so they let me return it and reset my stone in a wider, more intricate band. They were incredibly helpful. Plus they are eco-friendly, conflict-free and their stones are natural and untreated. Ok so enough about them, on to the ring!

Sorry if those pictures are huge! I'm not sure how to change them. But yeah, I wanted a traditional-looking engagement ring, minus the traditional diamond. And I absolutely love the ring I have!

Good luck finding yours! Pink sapphire rings are not easy to come by!

What a beautiful ring Ayguera! I love how the pink stone just pops out and grabs your attention. Stunning and it's great to know you had a good experience buying online. I've been leary with having to purchase online. FH lives in Holland and I live in NYC and I won't get my ring until September when we go to Nice so it's a little bit complicated...lol

You're absolutely right about the scarcity of finding a pink sapphire ring. This is the very reason why we chose to go the custom route. I found some websites with loose gems and he was going to have it set, but I will definitely send him your link because you had such a great experience. Thanks so much!

Actually the Natural Sapphire Company is based in NYC! So I don't know if they have an actual store you could go in or what but they are based there. So maybe you could check their page and see if you could go in and talk to someone? Then you'll know they're nice people :)

LOL I just noticed that and it's only 20 minutes from my job, but he wouldn't let me go and pick out the stone alone :( He's being very secretive about the whole thing. Ugh! Sometimes this 6 hour time difference really stinks! I'll talk to him tomorrow and see if he will let me go pick it out then he could pay for it and have them ship it to him. LOL I'm really bad at holding in my enthusiasm so if I saw a stone I loved he wouldnt be there to keep me from getting to happy which would prevent him from negotiating.

@thatelisagirl: I love your ring! I also have a pink morganite engagement ring. I guess I'm a sucker for the pale pink :)
