I am for sure i want a halo setting in white gold, without a plain band! However, we have a 900 budget for my e-ring! We are also having problems deciding on a stone. I recently fell in love with morganite and aquamarine as a center stone. I want this to be a ring i have for several years, and with the bills coming in the next few years, we will not be able to afford stone changes for a LONG time! Im afraid that i would regret a colored stone for my e-ring after a while, but i cant help but groan at the prospect of not owning one of those pretty morganites i have been seeing on here lately. ):
We also looked into pink moissanite, but have been nearly talked out of it:
Last weekend, we went to kay jewelers to just look around, and i asked about moissanite. The lady said they held little value, and if i chose to upgrade stone size in a few years, that id have to buy A new setting and everything to fit the new stone! Is this true? What are the cons of moissanite (besides color and clarity)?
AlSo, show me your morganites and aquamarines! Also, give me some advice and please help me find something in my price range of what im looking for? Thanks girls!

@ForeverMrsB: First of all, please do not listen to anything a Kay jewelers salesperson tells you…about any stone, including the ones they sell. To answer your question, no, it is not true: moissanite is cut to standard diamond sizes. If you want to replace a moissanite with another stone the only question is if the setting can withstand a stone swap (some tension or bezel settings can’t). As for the cons of moissanite, there are other threads regarding this issue, but really there are no cons aside from it being man-made (a plus to me!) and in the G-H color range.
If I were you I’d be looking at barely-pink moissanite. Aquamarine and morganite are beautiful but they are soft. If durability is a concern, you can’t do better than moissanite. You should visit the BetterThanDiamond.com forum for more info, those ladies are extremely knowledgeable.
Here is an absolutely stunning ring which is below your budget with a 1 ct stone: http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-brilliant-moissanite-diamond-petite-halo-engagement-ring-p-13100.html
I’ve seen IRL photos of the above and really, it is beyond gorgeous. The stock photos do not do it justice. But note, any setting that has pave stones in the band requires more upkeep. You might need to replace stones frequently. I was considering this set for my ring, but ended up choosing a plain band because I didn’t want to have to baby my ring or worry about replacing stones.
