Hey, Bees!
I'm on the hunt for a dress to wear to our October wedding, and I thought you all might be able to help me out. Thus far, I have narrowed it down to two: a pink White by Vera Wang, and Allure 8862.
We would like for our wedding to have a quirky, whimsical feel about it (think Tim Burton). Our colors are black, charcoal, blush, and ivory.
#1: VW351011. I've been hung up on this one since November. I think the shape and movement of the dress is cool, but the blush color is what knocks my socks off.
#2: Allure 8862. I tried this one on just last night. It's a wonderful dress, featuring a sweetheart neckline, a V-back, and tiny buttons and crystals down the zipper. (The picture quality isn't the greatest--this was a stealth photo!)
What say you, Bees?
What a hard choice, you look gorgeous in both. I've always loved the VW351011 gown, the ruffles (swoon) and I love the blush solour. However the Allure seems to give you a much better shape or it could just be that the sample fitted you better. Tough choice either dress will make you look gorgeous. I voted for the VW351011, its different and will surprise guests and suits your theme.
The second dress for sure. Honestly, you look beautiful in both but the second is SO gorgeous.
i love them both. i really like the skirt of the first one but i like the sweetheart neckline of the second one.
I agree with you on the blush color. You carry it off very well. That being said I like the shape of the second one much better!
Thanks for the advice, girls! I had given some thought to having the features of dress #2 added to dress #1, but I'm concerned that the alterations would go wrong and/or put me over budget (and besides, blush-colored buttons might be hard to come by).
I LOVE your colors and theme! Both the dresses are great... I can't vote for just one. Maybe consider looking back at the dresses in the future, someday maybe you'd be happier with the more traditional white color. For example handing down you dress to a future daughter or something. if that kind of stuff is up your alley...
You have a great figure. But the Allure does way better things for your waist.

Ooh that's a toughie! I voted for #1 because I love the blush color on you, it fits your theme and you sound more excited about it. But you can't go wrong with either dress.
the white one is my favorite but if you want a dress that fits your "theme" go with number 1, but you dont have to have everything according to your theme as long as there are some highlights the event will have a cohesive feel
I love the first one and you sound like you like it better too. A sweetheart neckline is usually an easy alteration if thats what you like about #2.
I LOVE the blush one on you! Your shape looks great in both of them, but I think the first one sounds like it fits your wedding more and I agree that you sound more excited about it :)
While we're at it, do any of you have other recommendations for whimsical gowns? I'm all ears!
I LOVE the the VW351011! Definitely more of whimsical feel to me and I'm a sucker for the colour (I have a blush gown as well!). I agree with making the neckline sweetheart too, that would be perfect!
definitely the 2nd, you look beautiful and it's not an overdone dress. i actually think the blush washes you out. :s
i voted for the first one because i love any chance to vote on a colored dress!!! yay for all the brides that are brave enough to have this as part of their theme/look! :) and that VW White dress really only looks good to me in the blush color, anyway.... it totally changes from toilet paper skirt to amazing skirt in the blink of a few blush pigments... ;)
if your not worried about not wearing white then go the blush !!!! just amazing dress, im not a fan of black in wedding dresses maybe a crystal beaded sash or something , i like bling lol but if you love it then go for it :P
I liked the Allure 8862 the most, maybe because I will probably order that dress too! I really like the design of that dress, looks so soft and flowy.
@suzieq80: I know a lot of chicks aren't down with black on a wedding dress, but I quickly discovered that it's one of the only ways I can don a wedding dress and still feel like myself (I wear black every single day).
@Knittelina: Have you tried it on yet? It. Is. Awesome. It fits and feels great, and it looks super bustled.
#1...is stunning!!! hands down. and i think it goes with your theme better. 
it's one of my favorite dresses too that i have pinned. Seems like the perfect color and I totally get it. and i'm sure it looks much better on you than it would on me 
@pengoala: Dude, right? If the Allure came in blush, this would be a no-brainer.
Omg, they're both SO lovely!!! It's like each one was MADE for you! I voted for the first one, just because it sounds like it fits the wedding theme well & from the description I think you're more in love with it. But the second one is stunning as well. Good luck... you'll be beautiful in whatever you choose!
@Baccara: No I am having a beach wedding so I love the rhinestone star detailing on it I think it goes with my theme! But it looks awesome belted on you!
I really liked both dresses. That colour is amazing. But I think you looked fantastic in the second dress, it really suits your figure.
Oh wow...you can't go wrong with either! I'm slightly biased because the Allure 8862 is my dress too :) Your picture is the first time I've seen it belted- I LOVE IT! I ordered mine with the applique unattached so that I have the option to belt it or add other details and now I'm so glad I did. It looks so great!
But I love the blush Vera Wang too. If it were a sweetheart neckline I would be even more in love!
I LOVE the VW on you.... I think I've seen that dress before, but in the blush color it is totally amazing. It just looks like a work of art on you! The 2nd dress looks great, too, but in a more commonplace way, IMO.
I like the only reason I like the Allure better is because of the structured sweet heart neckline. Could you make the Vera one with a sweetheart??
