I dont have pics but both Badgley Mischka and Tadashi Shoji had amazing mint green evening gowns that I would’ve considered for my wedding, had I gone that route. I’d check both of their sites and maybe shopbop.com too

I had my heart set on Wtoo Olivia in oatmeal but cNt try on a damn sample anywhere and with my 34E breast I don’t trust just to order it….I also loved the gold Maggie Sottero Tuscany and they only store around me that carried it sold the sample yesterday (FML)……. The Oliva is $1700 in Canada and Tuscany is over $2000 but not sure how much. I love coloured gowns by FI doesn’t and I’m to the point where i do t like anything anyways so I might just buy something white and cheap and call it a day 🙁

Blackrabbit:  Mine was not blue-ish but very actually blue. It’s not very weddingy but I was an older bride and I don’t really like white on me, so it was what I wanted (I designed it myself).

Mrs.Z.:  that’s so annoying if people don’t understand the coloured dress thing. Fortunately my DH loved the idea, and so did my mum, but I got a few weird reactions from other people.

I have a friend who is in the same situation as you, except it’s her mother who doesn’t want her to get a coloured dress. She wants one of these two dresses, but her mother (who is paying for it) isn’t keen.

So now she’s looking at ones that are paler or white at the top, and coloured in the skirt, in the hope that her mother will agree to that (at least it will look like a white dress from the top half?):

Also David Tutera for Mon Cheri has a new collection of quite subtle coloured dresses which she really loves. But they probably won’t be available in Australia in time for her to order them *sigh*.

Kitty Chen has some lovely lightly colored dresses that may interest you. My dress is “gold” (light champagne colored) but she has some great light blues too.

Actually, looking at the new David Tutera collection – at least half of them are in colours! Sophia Tolli’s new range has some too. I really like these blue ones – hope this is a new trend!
