if i want to put a gardenia flower in my hair after my hair appt (since it is so early in the morning ... way after the florist is dropping off the flowers) does anyone have an idea on how to secure it.
i plan to use a gardenia, and want to put it behind my ear.
Have the florist wrap the stem with florist tape so you have more to work with. Have your stylist put a small rubberband at the base of your hair in the area where you want to place the flower. This can be hidden in your hairstyle, then when your ready to pin the flower, you have something to secure it to.. as a gardenia is a bigger flower and you don't want it sliding out. Be sure to criss cross the pins under the little hidden rubberband. Also try not to touch the actual petals of the flower as they bruise really easily and turn brown. Hope that helps.
I am hearing that everywhere ... is it just that they wilt or that it won't stay without a comb? I am going to be disappointed not to have that amazing scent.
i wore two one my wedding day. don't touch the petals. they wilt and brown because of the oils on your skin.
your florist should wrap the stem in floral tape like a boutineer. secure with bobby pins. make your stylist aware that your adding flowers to your hair so that the style accomodates the flowers.
also, they are scented so make sure that your or your groom are not allergic.
