we were thinking of giving a pint glass to each guest as our favors. we aren't planning to put our names on it. we thought of maybe "thanks" or "love." what do you all think?

I love it. Very clever not to use your names, but I use a wine glass that has a couple's name on it.

If I were a guest, I would prefer nothing on it... if I'm coming as a couple, then I have a nice set of two.  Perhaps you could tie a string around it with the 'thanks' ... I'm thinking from a reusability perspective.

i'd go with "LOVE" and maybe the date.  I would totally love that favor and think of the wedding everytime i used it!

Love it, pint glasses are something we can never have enough of in our house.  I think a frosted design would look cool, that way it is neutral, not blank but also not with a name or date.  I always look at those frosted glass kits and Michaels and want to try that out sometime.

Great idea.  Utilitarian, and your guests will love it!

Had I thought of it, I would have done it :)

Love it! That is totally cute. My boyfriend looooooves beer (we went to a Fest of Ales last night, actually) and this would be a really cute and subtle way of including his likes into your reception! I would maybe just leave it blank, almost, so people can incorporate it into the other glasses they have and it'll (kinda) match! Maybe fill it with custom M&Ms or something.

I think it could be a nice favor DEPENDING on where your guests are coming from.  If its mostly local, and they would be transporting them home by hand, go for it!  But if a lot are traveling (esp by plane) they may tend to leave them behind because of the hassle.  Just my .02 =)

I like the idea...I was thinking that I like "LOVE"  Mary-alice-me mentioned doing wine glasses, that would be cute too...maybe a mixture of pint and wine for those beer or wine drinkers!

I think it is a great idea your guests would use again and again :)

I also support the idea of having a word and your date or just a word on to make sure the guests can use them for lots of things :)

thanks for your input everyone! i'm thinking some combo of pint glasses (with just love or plain) and wine glasses and candy will hopefully please everyone! we only have a handful of people flying in, so those folks can just get extra candy. :o)

I like your idea, but I would definitely leave it plain. I don't know too many guys that would want to drink a beer with their buddies while watching football out of a glass that says "Love" on it.

I like your idea to mix wine glasses & pint glasses!

My SIL did martini glasses and just put a card inside the glass that said thanks for sharing the day with us.  We saw some people walk out with 10 glasses at the end of the night.  We didn't have any left over so I think people really liked them.

i think it would be awesome if you could come up with a beer style logo  to put on it, but have it represent your marriage or you as a couple (i.e. NewLastName Brewing Co.)! then maybe under the "logo" you could put "est. 10/10/10" (insert your own date, of course)?
