I love mermaid dresses! I tried on all the different types just to make sure thats what I really wanted :D
@petitfour: did you go to david bridal or a different bridal boutique?
I voted other because I love the look of a princess ballgown.
If I were in my 20s thats what I'd be wearing for sure.
In general, I like modified a-line gowns., though I'd wear anything sent down the runway by Oscar de la Renta, Amsae, Reem Acra, or Rivini.

Btw, there are a few gowns on my board that I don't like...I wrote a comment on those.
I like mermaids because they are sexy!
But I love ball gowns because they are princess dresses.
I love mermaid and fit/flare dresses. I think they look great on all shapes and sizes.
I love fitted/slim a-line dresses
An a-line truly is a girls best friend but unfortunately a lot of a-line gowns look dumpy these days. A slim/fitted a-line still hides unwanted areas and flows with the body.
The above two dresses are two of my favorite gowns.
My dress:) It will be more trumpet with a slip under to poof it out! I also love ballgowns!!
I like slim A-lines the best. Really flattering on most girls, and especially on me.

Thanks! The second one is one I tried on recently and love. The first one is one I'm due to try on in a couple of weeks. Both look so sweet and romantic.
I chose 'other' because I love tea-length. Here's a photo of my favourite so far (although the model looks a bit like a zombie).
I never would have thought this about myself but ever since I bought a ballgown I'm obsessed with them! I love how they look on everyone.
@Overjoyed060113: Ditto. Modified-A is very forgiving on the figure and it keeps the lines clean and modern.
My fave type of wedding gowns for me are a toss up between A-line /fitted A-line and sheath. Thouigh there are many styles I like, that don't necessarily suit me.
I'll be making a few changes, but this is my gown:
My dream dress would be custom made -strapless gown, fitted A-line with ruching on bodice, corset back, some blue & AB beading and Swarovski crystals. The ultimate for me would be to have it made by Vera Wang, Badgley Mischka, or Calvin Klein.

I LOVE a mermaid dress, but when I tired them on, I couldn't for the life of my figure out how I was going to dance in it all night! I decided on a modified A-Line :)
