I'm a grad student at Pitt, live in Squirrel Hill and we're getting married May 2nd outside at a place called the Alpine Room at SNPJ in Enon Valley, PA. www.alpineroom.com
@ JeniRae -- I've been to SNPJ, but never in the Alpine Room. I called for some info, but they were booked on the date we wanted. My friend's brother had his reception there and, from the pictures I saw, it looked really nice! An outside ceremony there would be beautiful!
Squeal -- ME ME OVER HERE! LE SIGH. Pittsburgh how i love you. My FH and I met and fell in love at PITT. We are getting married at Heinz Chapel and having our reception at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. My FI proposed to me outside the Cathedral of Learning. I love PGH and I especially love Pittsburgh Brides <3
Hi! I'm living in Pittsburgh but getting married in Boston! Just moved here in September and am loving it.
I'm getting married in Pittsburgh! I went to PITT, FI went to IUP. We're getting married on September 18, 2010 at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland. We've got site visits lined up at a bunch of hotels downtown for the reception (since I live in MD half of the guests will have to stay overnight and it's just easier this way). Did anyone else do the hotel reception there?

Pittsburgh bride here too! My FI is a Pitt Grad and I'm a Penn Stater, but we both grew up in town and are getting married at the Heinz History Center in October. I'm very excited and couldn't be more proud of our great city!! 
Actually Mrs. Pineapple's reception was at The River's Club.

Hi all! I live downtown and work at Carnegie Mellon! We're getting married May 30, 2009 - almost 100 days from now! We're both transplants from Boston. All of our guests will be from out of town. So getting hotel space has been super crucial!
At mnmgirl08 - I'm actually having my ceremony and reception downtown at the DoubleTree. So far they've been so wonderful to work with!
I'm a Pittsburgh bride getting married on May 1 at the Sheraton Station Square... they have been great to work with as well!
I am in CA now but my FI and I are from a small town north of Pittsburgh and are getting married there this Sept.

i moved to Pittsburgh in June because my boyfriend, now FI is finishing school at PITT......... proposed to in Pittsburgh, getting married back home in chicago after he graduates! so far loving this city though!
I'm going to be in the 'burgh for my tasting and trials the weekend of April 3rd...maybe we bees can grab some tasty brunch?

I'm a Pittsburgh bride, too! I'm getting married north of Pittsburgh at my college alma mater in Amish Country this May :) While I am using a few vendors from that area, I've been able to take advantage of excellent Pittsburgh vendors as well!

Our's is at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland. We're going up to PGH this weekend (from Baltimore/DC area) to look at reception places and meet our priest (FI's distant cousin). I'm so excited to see potential places. And get back to Pitt. I love that city.

I'm a Pittsburgh bride too! I am getting married on May 23 in Greentree. I'm almost 60 days away. My FI and I went to Pitt together and were in the same major but we never met! We actually got together after college at our work.

We're getting married in June at Heinz chapel and we're having our reception at the Priory. lreighard1 and I both live in DC, and are gettting married in Pittsburgh. We met via wedding bee and are helping each other with DOC to save moolah! Wish I could make it up april 3rd but am coming the following weekend for easter :(

I live in OH, but I'm only like 40 min from downtown Pittsburgh. I go there a *lot*. But I'm getting married in Staten Island and hopefully moving out there after the wedding.
lreighard1--- We're most likely having our ceremony at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park. We haven't decided on a person to perform our ceremony yet.

To the rest of my PGH bees I'm having my hair and make up trail, food and (cup)cake tasting this weekend in my fav fav fav city and I can't wait. I'll stand on the Cathedral lawn and wave at all of you :D
Hi Everyone! I was married last May (1 year anniversary is so close) but still check in to weddingbee every now and then! We were married at Phipp's Garden center and had our reception in Oakmont, so if anyone is looking for vendors in those areas, I would be happy to provide my recommendations!

Hey Pittsburgh brides! Although neither my FI nor I are actually local to Pittsburgh, we decided to get married in the glorious Steel City! We are both Pitt alums and he was in the Heinz Chapel Choir for 4 years, and he told me the only wedding-related detail he truly cares about is having the ceremony there, so Pittsburgh it is. It's my favorite place in the whole world and we plan on eventually settling down there one day, so I can't wait! I haven't been down yet to scope out venues in person, but from my Internet searching, my favorite reception venues are Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and the Frick. Anybody have any thoughts on those?

Thanks, DE! The SNPJ was great. The wedding was outside and we used the big barn there as our portrait background. I haven't added to the gallery, but have worked on my Bio some. :)
