Have you looked into this place?

It looks something like Vows that is on I Found the Gown on TLC. I don’t know where you live in Philly, but that place is right outside of the city.

@bittttersweet:  Sorry, I guess your post is a little confusing – do you want to shop in Pittsburgh or Philly?

I bought my dress at Bridal Beginnings in Mt. Leb. They have an amazing, amazing selection and the entire staff is awesome. Very good range of price points and designers.

ETA: there’s a little shop in the South Side, right on Carson Street near Nakama that has lots of unique dresses. That might be worth a try!

@bittttersweet:  lol – I can help you out with that too… but I don’t know the price points. My MOH bought her dress at Susan Deborah Bridal in Rochester. Hers was a Lazaro, which are pricey.

Have you thought about Etsy at all? It seems like you are going for a vintage-y look.

As far as Pittsburgh goes, I’ve heard good things about The White Orchid too. MB Bride is supposedly huge and has a TON of dresses, so you could get a good find there.

Also, if you’re looking for something totally unique, I’d check out Tadashi Shioji dresses. They are amazing, have a ton that come in ivory/white tones, and are really cut to fit women. Plus, you aren’t paying the “bridal markup.” Nordstrom at Ross Park has several dresses by her, so you could try on for size. Lintons in the waterfront has an ivory/cream one shoulder dress by her that I would probably kill for – and was around $500. Here’s a link to the bridal section on the TS website: http://shop.tadashishoji.com/wedding/bridal-suite.html. They have more in the “evening gown” section too. My mom got her MOB dress from Nordstrom and the TS line. She loves it!

Glitter and Grit was my FI’s first stop! The dresses I think she said go up to $4k, but she didn’t mention what the lower end was. I think there are a couple boutiques in Dormont that we are going to check out soon, Anne Gregory is the one that comes to mind. Good luck!

@crysxcross:  Ann Gregory is expeeeeensiiive! They carry Monique Lhullier and brands on that level, so I’d probably avoid it for the OP’s budget.

@bittttersweet:  I’ve had friends buy dresses from MB Bride with no issues, but online reviews do say a lot. Just order it in plenty of time if you do choose to go there, in case there is an issue.
