AWW im sooo sorry! Make sure to take care of yourself!. Keep warm and get tons on rest, sleep is extremely important. Im sure you have stuff to do, but try not to do anything. Health comes first. Feel better soon!!!
Aw Scissors! Lots of internet hugs to you! And that sucks you can't sleep - that's always such a pain about being sick. Can't get out of bed, but can't actually sleep when in bed. Hoping you feel better soon!
Sorry some how missed the part about not being able to sleep! Are you taking anything that makes you drowsy? My dads a dr and always tells me to take tylenol pm when im sick to make sure I get a good nights rest. Its hard to recover if youre not getting enough sleep, and I know when youre really sick sometimes its hard to sleep comfortably.
Thanks ladies. :)
I just need to learn how to RELAX and stay still. ADHD kid to the max. :p
@july- They have me on so much medication, and it seems like most of the side-effects are supposed to be drowsiness... but instead I'm just crazy restless. I think it's also partially due to the fact that I can't get totally comfortable because my stupid chest hurts. :p
::Internet hugs!::
Per rating your pain, maybe you could write down how bad it is on a scale of 1-10? And go ahead and include your own self-conscious pain awareness inflation in there...if you always include it from now on it will be a constant!
Lol, perhaps. I might just try to stop thinking about it, and then I'll notice if it gets worse? Eh?
Worst patient ever.
Ugh, I'm sorry! *Hugs!* That's awful. As soon as I'm wondering if something is better or worse, I can't stop obsessing over it... so try not to think about it too much, I guess?
Did they tell you how long you would feel bad for?
They told me that if I didn't feel better by Monday, or I got worse, then I would have to go to the hospitaly. That's the only timeline they gave. Booooooo!
Hmph. No fun. Is Mr. Scissors waiting on you hand and foot, at least?
Big hugs, that's no fun! I've had pneumonia twice and it REALLY blows! Just hope Mr. Scissors is spoiling you rotten while you try to get better.
Sorry to hear you're sick! My aunt was told two weeks ago that she had pneumonia AND H1N1. She's being treated for both, but it's definitely taking a while to recover. So at least you only have one illness! I know what you mean about the meds making you restless - I have the same problem. I've found keeping my hands busy - knitting, sewing, or writing helps me calm down and relax. Hope you feel better soon and don't have to make the trip to the hospital.
Oh Lauren, maybe take this as a sign that your body is telling you (no, screaming actually ;) ) to chill out, relax. Take this time to work on some DIY stuff for the wedding. Something easy, scrapbooking. Working through those wonderful pre marital counseling workbooks. Work on some Valentine's Day gifts maybe?
See this as an opportunity for all these things you wish you had time to do and ta-dah time galore! In the meantime, *hugs* and loves your way. Get better.
I'm so sorry, Scissors :-(
(Incidentally, I think of your name as 50 Scissors. Is that weird?)
One thing that keeps me in bed and occupied when I'm sick is audiobooks - especially ones that are gripping or funny. David Sedaris definitely helped me through my pre-wedding strep!
Ugh, i hate that! I always feel like its worse to be borderline sick than full-blown sick because I can never decide if I'm being a whiner or not haha.
So sorry you're not feeling good :(
*HUGS* I say make the FI go out and rent lots of chick flicks and try to veg on the couch with those. It sucks being sick when you have a lot to do. I hope you start feeling better soon!
take care lady! and start watching a TV series starting at Season 1 - that always helps me chill out and want to stay in bed to finish the series!
Good idea, lamb!! I would recommend Entourage - we watched it all the way thru on a ski trip this time last year (well, a few seasons anyway) and it was very relaxing.
Get Netflix online and watch Dexter. Awesome show!
Feel better!
@scissors- take care of yourself, lady! Two springs ago my hubby (then fiance) got pneumonia, collapsed his left lung, filled the right one up partway and had emergency surgery! He was in the hospital for 10 days and missed a MONTH of work. Sleeping on our pullout couch sitting up helped make him reasonable comfortable to sleep. Take it seriously and get well soon!
I was going to recommend my favorite time-wasting tv shows: True Blood, Law and Order: SVU, Being Erica, Strangers with Candy - you could have a blast!
I hope you feel better soon :)
Totally second the Netflix... pretty cheap and you get to watch as much as you want!
Are JP/your parents taking care of you? I hope so! I am so sorry you're sick! I hope no hospital time for you!!! Also, I hope your professors are being flexible :) Get well soon, lady! We need you in the hive!
Oh, scissors that's terrible
I hope you feel better and soon!!

I'm having a serious pity party, table for 1.
After an x-ray and other tests, they found out that I have pneumonia in my right lung, and it really, really blows. The stressful part about it is the fact that it's not bad enough for the hospital, but it's right on the border of having to go. I have to be "constantly vigilant" about noticing if my chest pain is getting worse or better. Problem with that is is that I can't tell whether it's worse because I'm thinking about it, or worse because it's worse! Ugh.
Basically I'm chained to the bed, or supposed to be, but I have crap I want to do and end up mindlessly wandering around the apartment. I have zero energy, yet can't sleep. My mind is so fuzzy that I can't get anything design, blog, or wedding related done. Can't focus enough to watch a movie or really do anything. Driving me bonkers, and I just cannot relax.
So yeah, internet hugs or other pity partiers welcome. :p Misery loves company, right?
