We're keeping or reception simple and sane and economical (or trying to, at least). I was at a cafe today, and the guy next to me was eating a pizza that smelled fabulous! I was inspired ... who doesn't love pizza? Simple, filling, easy, creative, memorable -without lots of fuss and clean-up, etc.
Appreciate advice, suggestions, recommendations, horror stories, etc. The wedding is in Westlake Village for about 80 guests. Obviously, will need a place that can make a lot of pizza....
Wow, I have no suggestions on places since I don't live in the area, but just reading the title made me want to come! Best reception idea I've ever heard, and now I'm REALLY craving pizza.
One bit of advice- depending on how fancy/casual your wedding is, you may want to provide lobster bibs or something similar for your guests to keep their nice clothes clean. Pizza is a pain to get out of clothes, especially if you don't get it immediately, and I know many adults who are worse than kids about spilling on themselves, my father and my MIL included:)
oh wow I live in westlake too! I've never seen another bee so close to home! which venue are you holding the reception?
Well there a BJ's off WLV BLVD, Toppers in thousand Oaks. Numero Uno is my all time fav, and Stuft Pizza in thousand oaks is pretty good. There's also a buca di pepo in T.O. and they have pretty good and BIG pizza.
I'm not too fond of hungry howies or aunt leftys.
I would try Romio's if get the chance, I haven't tried them but I have heard good things and they ALWAYS have coupons.
Thanks for the enthusiastic reply. The more I think of it, the more I like it. Yes - we'll need to think about bibs! I found adorable mini pizza-cutter favors from www.bridesagainstbreastcancer.com
Tallbride, I'm getting married at the Westlake Yacht Club. Romio's is my fiance's favorite pizza place ... !
You may also want to be aware of dietary restrictions - we had pizza at our rehearsal and a few guests had to order something different off the menu (which we covered, of course) because they couldn't eat cheese. Overall, though, pizza's a great crowd pleaser! I'm craving deep dish at the moment... :D

We are getting married a Saint Maximilliam Kolbe catholic church and having the recpetion at the church. Our wedding is pretty budget friendly too.
