Weddingbee boards

Our favors are boxes of two chocolate covered strawberries (one box per couple).  Our idea for place cards was to put a label on the top of each box with the couple's name and table number on the label.  The kink in our plans is that we need to signify their menu choice.  Since it is two people per favor we can't just color code them.  Any ideas?

Also, do you think people will pick up their placecard/favor box and leave it on the table so that the server can see what they have chosen? 

I think it's pretty typical that each couple only gets one place card (or in your case favor doubling as a place card). It's still fine to color code their entrees. For example, I'm doing this with a ribbon tied to the place card. If the couple happened to get the same entree, they will just get one ribbon of the same color. If not, they will have two ribbons tied to their card of the corresponding colors.

 I think most people will know to leave their place cards on the table, but my venue coordinator mentioned that the waitstaff generally will walk through and remind them to do so if they haven't already. It's part of the service you're paying for :)

I wanted to do one per person but the box is supplied by the baker that does the strawberries and it's a 2 strawberry wide box.  Thanks for your ideas, very helpful.
