For those of you that had a plated dinner with a pre-selected main course, how did you indicate each guest’s choice on their place card? I have to come up with a solution before I meet with the caterer on Friday. If you have photos of place cards, I’d love to see them!

@IndyBea: We bought cute blank greeting cards from TJ Maxx and wrote people’s first names on the front, and their meal choice on the back.
We also gave the caterers the seating chart so they’d know where each meal was supposed to go.

@IndyBea: You can use a colored sticker
a different color card- white =steak purple = chicken
different color embellishments
have the name in a different color
use a symbol

You can get these little crystals at the Dollar Store

@IndyBea: I had my guests select their meal choice on their RSVP. I color coordinated their favor boxes to which meal they chose. My greeter at the door of the venue kindly asked everybody to keep their favor box by their plate and it worked out great!
Blue – Tuscan Stuffed Pork Chop
Yellow – Crab Stuffed Tilapia
Ivory – Herb Marinated Chicken Breast
Here are our favor boxes. They were filled with a milk chocolate pecan turtle and a truffle. Each color had a designed truffle too. I had wayyy to much fun with my favors/escort cards 🙂

I printed actual pictures of a cow, fish, and lettuce (vegetarian) below names and table #s

i used a different colour of small flower and put it in the corner of the place card; pink=beef, black=chicken, green=veg.
these aren’t mine but it gives you an example.

@IndyBea: My friend did a different color rhinestone for each menu choice and placing them on the card as an embellishment. I will be borrowing her idea! 🙂

Mine wanted a copy of our seating chart, and said if I decided to go with a plated meal that they could use it to hand out the correct plate to the correct person!

I don’t have pics of ours, but I’m using different colours of washi tape for each meal choice and using that on the escort cards. The coordinator will also have master list in case

@IndyBea: What we did was have the color of the box indicate what the meal choice was (Orange was chicken, gold was fish, red was veggie, and brown was kids) The box had the favor (a chocolate) in it. It made it so easy to make it all in one.

I’d just make sure it’s something fairly obvious. When we met with our caterer she was telling us how the last wedding she went to they used the rhinestones, but they were like…orange and red. In a dimly lit room. Needless to say, it didn’t work that well.
