Soooo, I know what I’m doing for the placecards on the table and the table numbers… but what’s the “proper way” to have your guests find their table? Unleashing 300 people into a reception hall all willy nilly does NOT seem like that best idea (thanks hunny fiance for your input however)… someone guide me in the right direction.. please?

Could you make up some sort of document that listed guests alphabetically that directed them to their table? Once at the table they could find their seat.

Are you planning on putting the place cards at the table seats? Or using them as escort cards to find their seats? If the latter is true, your venue should at least be able to offer a table to display them on. Then your guests just have to go to the table (usually with a guest book too), grab their card and find their seat.
If you are worried about them finding the actual table, you can make a little diagram of the seating area to put with the escort cards, so they know where they are headed. But I think if you number the tables in an orderly fashion, most people can figure it out.
