For my ceremony we are not having any ushers so I was wondering how I should distribute the programs to the guests. My programs are going to be a 8 1/2″ by 11″ page of paper so they would fly away if I just left them on a table I would think.
I could put them on a table right before they walk out to the ceremony. I could put a sign that says “Please take one”.
What do you think? Suggestions?

I am putting mine on each seat… but I assume that you are getting married outside? What about assigning the job of program passer-outer to a teenage cousin?

@CorgiTales: Yes, I am getting married outside. My fiance does have a newphew who will be 10ish at the time of the wedding. Maybe I should ask him.

I would ask him to hand them out for you.
Or maybe use a table and sign saying to “please take one” and place a small stone on top of papers to keep them from flying away?

Ask a friend or relative to pass out the programs. I’m sure they’d be honored to help.

i’ll be putting them in a basket near the entrance, then 10 minutes or so before the start time my brother or someone will pass them out to whoever didn’t take one.

i like either idea. either have your nephew hand them out or have a sign and a weight to hold them down.
hubby’s brother is 12, so we gave him this job and he liked it! it kinda made him feel part of our wedding and he was happy to contribute.

I will talk to my fiance about it at lunch. I don’t really know his nephew very well (they live in a different state) and I’ve only met him once. But I’ll see what I can do. I didn’t want to put them on each seat because I didn’t want that showing up in the photos.
