- Wedding: November 2014
Hi bees, I am currently planning a super small wedding with up to 15 guests! I and him both are Asian but from different countries, and air tickets for family are sooooo expensive. So family members would not come. Only our close friends in US would attend. One reason we want it to be small is that we don’t have money. My budget including all excluding honeymoon would be around $1000…Another reason is that both of us are second marriage:p so we don’t want it to be big and spending. Although I know marriage is way more important than wedding, I still want a intimate but beautiful wedding.
My current spending in my budget are:
Bands: bluenile plain band, $250 for two.
Dress: F21 long sleeve lace crop and high-waist chiffon maxi skirt. $30 (the matching effect is so formal that I am so surprised)
His blazer: $70 from Banana RP sale, very nice and good deal!
My shoe: My favorite white Adidas stylish sneaker~Already owned but never wear it.
His shoe: New from his country, he brought here and never wear it. Very top brand in their country but I don’t know actually.
Venue: A local country chapel, belongs to a Christian retreat center, simple but very cute, holding 100 people (too big for me). They offers us $300 for 3 hours. It’s cheaper than usual because they are closing soon…The land owner got bankrupt and might have to sell the land to government…We are both christians but we don’t have membership in any Church. Can’t afford a non-member donation…And the wedding is in Thanksgiving so we don’t want an outdoor wedding, so that no one got frozen…I was thinking about home wedding but the living room is too small…
Pastor: a nice ordained minister we found on thumbtack. He was a comissioner in Japan for 26 years and he is 78 years old now. Very nice grandpa! Only charges $150.
Music: Laptop with speaker maybe. And there’s piano in the chapel we are allowed to use. My only bridesmaid, my best friend here, will play it when I march.,,
Reception: Local buffet restaurant. $8 each for a lunch buffet. That’s a greeeeaaat buffet with grills and high-quality sushi. It has at least $20 quality but only charges half. We love it. Problem is I don’t know how to decorate it if they offer us a relative private corner.
Bouquet: I plan to go to local farmers market or Kroger to buy fresh flower one day before the wedding and tie with burlap myself. $20 around.
Decoration: for the chapel, for the foyer outside the chapel (welcome table and pre-ceremony snack), for the buffet (maybe). This part I don’t know what to do…!!! I have 200 tea lights and several glass jars I saved after I finish food… And I have a super countryside tablecloth I never used (very old from a friend two years ago)…And I have mixed style ceramic and glass plates and cups (I hope I can make a DIY snack holder with my plate and cups)…And here outside the backyard is lots of pine cones I might want to use. As for the pre-ceremony snack, I want to serve just Publix mixed dissert plate. They look good. $20
Any one have any good or better idea about it? I hope it could be DIY becaue of the budget…T.T I only have $30 budget left for decoration. And I don’t want girly stuff…I and my F are both very nerdy Asians (imagine it), and we are both scholars…So I was also thinking about using our books to decorate the welcome table…
Hope everything goes well. God bless.
