Our wedding reception is at a planetarium. It’s so beautiful and so romantic, it’s filled with silver and dark blue. But I’m having such a hard time figuring out what to do as a centerpiece. I want it to go with the “starry” theme, but I’m having a hard time finding flowers I like, or any centerpiece yet.
Has anyone else done a planetarium reception? If so what’d you use? If not, I’m totally open to any suggestions!

This would work- the lanterns would look like planets.
Paper lanterns are hung from the end of flexible bamboo poles set into a narrow vase.

I’m sorry I have no suggestions but that sounds like an AWESOME venue!!

Ok this would be a bit of stretch but there is a type of lily called a stargazer!

Here’s more. You can focus on capturing the theme with decor surrounding the area and just keep the centerpieces simple and cute.
or you could do paper star ornaments such as these:
here’s a link to a DIY paper bag star tutorial which I’m using for my wedding (which btw is not star themed, but these are cute): http://blog.hwtm.com/2011/07/diy-tutorial-brown-paper-bag-stars/
here’s another for paper star lanterns: http://www.homemade-gifts-made-easy.com/paper-star-lantern.html#axzz1ZaSWhIjd
and another for stars: http://themagiconions.blogspot.com/2009/12/make-hanging-christmas-stars.html
or how about a bunch of these scattered on tables: http://www.flickr.com/photos/samyii/366889224/

I really love all of these. Sorry it took so long to reply, first post I expect an email if anyone replied. Anyways, I love the lanters..but their so expensive.. So my mom has started making those like “Christmas stars” that LuluinLove mentioned, we got some mod podge and they look awesome. Also I’m gonna do those little origami stars (I love them), and I’m very thankful for my long engagement because I’m gonna need it for those. Haha Thank you all for your replies!
